Hard Drive Mode: This can store all the changes and data as 8mb memory card is not enough.

Real time stadium lighting (Konami seem to have 2 versions of the same stadium (1 at night and 1 at day)) REal time lighting would only need 1 stadium with the light provided by the sun or flood lights.

Create your own league and seasons like CM4 or sensible soccer
Cache replays to harddrive allowing you to set the length of the replays to what you want.
Use your own MP3's for background music.

They should also provide the following editors for PS2 and PC

Stadium Editor: Add/Edit your own stadiums.
Celebration Editor: You can assign 1 or more celbrations for each player.
Football Chant Editor (You can assign chants for each team for certain events i.e. (1:0, derbys, winning a game, winning the league etc)
Season Editor

Computer generated voice creator. (You get the computer to generate the voice and save it to a wav file). You then attach the sound file to the pronouce name for (player/team or ground) For PES on the PS3 all the commentary is made in real time by a text to speech system.

National anthems for every team.

Realistic Weather ,Time and Pitch

Time:
There was a football game on PES1 which had realistic time, where if the game starts in the evening, the sun may be out, but the sun may set. The flood lights would come on if it became too dark.

Weather:
The weather is random and is based on where you play. If you play in a hot country there is more chance of it being dry, but play in Manchester (Rain), Kiev (Snow).
The weather will also change during the game it may start raining, snowing or it may stop. The sun may come out or it will remain cloudy.
The sun would dry out the pitch
The rain would make the pitch wetter, if it rains too much the pitch would become waterlogged like the Liverpool game.
The snow will make it hard to see and will start to cover the pitch if it is heavy.
Thunderstorms.
The pitch would range from Very dry, dry, normal, wet, waterlogged and it would affect the ball bounce and distance.
The pitch would not be all the same, so some parts may be dry and others more wet.

The weather will also vary:
Sun: Very Cloudy (very dark) no sun ,Cloudy no sun, Sun (The sun will decrease the time it takes to dry out the pitch)
Temperature: Freezing to Normal to Baking (The hotter it is the faster the pitch drys out)
Rain: None, Slight, Normal, Heavy , Downpour (the heavier it is the faster the pitch becomes wetter)
Snow: None, Slight, Normal, Heavy ,SnowStorm (the heavier it is the faster the pitch fills up with snow)
Wind: None, Mild, Breezy, Hurricane (This will also affect the rain and snow, it will also help in drying out the pitch)

Altitude:
The higher you go the faster the ball flies through the air.

Wind:
This will affect the ball when it is in the air.
The wind would also change and affect the rain and snow.

The weather, wind altitude would also afffect the players.
Sun: Players tire out more easily.
Altitude: Players tire out more easily
Rain: Control of ball is worse.Players more likely to slip. Players may get bogged down if the pich is waterlogged. Players will slide tackle longer if the pitch is wet.
Snow: Control of ball is worse. Players more likely to slip.
Wind: Like golf if you run against it you will be slower, but if it is behind you you will go faster.

Pitch
The pitch would also cut up if it is too wet.

Realistic penalties

Goalie:
The goalie should be able to move left, right, up and down before the penalty is take.
If the goalie comes out too far, then they may get a warning by the ref.
If the penalty is taken and the goalie is too far out , they may have to take it again. (You could add extre animation for the players reaction)

Penalty taker:
Should have more control of where the ball goes ie. doa chip penalty like Di Canio or blast it in like Van Nistleroy

Extra option fior both players:
By moving the right joystick up the players will move closer to the penalty, if there is a rebound.

By moving the right joystick down the other players will move away from the penalty.

If the penalty is taken and the players are too close it may have to be taken again.

Ragdoll physics

It would be great to have ragdoll physics. It would mean the players would respond more realistically to fouls, barges etc. Instead of the pre scripted routines that it has now.

Improved control of players

You should have control of your players all the time, and be able to switch and move them anywhere for example:

When opposing goalie has the ball you should be able to foul him or try and stop him kicking the ball.
Freekicks, throwins you can still foul players.

Slide Tackling:
As soon as you press the slide tackle button your player should slide tackle (Even if they are not near the ball). A lot of times the game does not even make your player slide tackle. You should also have control of direction.

Heading:
As soon as you press the head button your player should jump. A lot of time i will put my player in front, and no matter how many times i press the head button they don't even jump (most of the goals i concede are because of this) You should have control of speed, height and direction of heading as the heading routines are scripted mostly to pass to the cpu player

New Passing:
You should have the option of charging the pass button.
If you tap the button the ball will go to that player (just like normal). If you hold on to the pass button the pass gauge will fill up and when you relese the ball will go in that direction.

360 degree:
PES still can only run in 8 directions , This limits the players you can pass to, head to etc. As the computer has to guess which player you are passing to.

Goalie:
Manual kick and throw option
The first press will set the height and the second press will set the power

Realistic penalties

Goalie:
The goalie should be able to move left, right, up and down before the penalty is take.
If the goalie comes out too far, then they may get a warning by the ref.
If the penalty is taken and the goalie is too far out , they may have to take it again. (You could add extre animation for the players reaction)

Penalty taker:
Should have more control of where the ball goes ie. doa chip penalty like Di Canio or blast it in like Van Nistleroy

Free Kick:
You should be ablt to rotate 360 degrees.
You should be able to move your players around.

Extra option for both players:
By moving the right joystick up the players will move closer to the penalty, if there is a rebound.

By moving the right joystick down the other players will move away from the penalty.

If the penalty is taken and the players are too close it may have to be taken again.

far too in depth and too specific, your requests may be met in 7-8 years but not before then......having said that, what you said of penalties is quite good, considering how bad they are now.

good ideas for the most part. some are a little bit unfeesable/hard to implement, such as the voice creator. i agree with it fully, but its just a little bit extreme. i think the fact that Peter Brackley pronounces Ewerthon's name like the team Everton should allow you to use that as the club commentary name. and if it was in the last PES but not in the current one, be able to switch them over.

it would be nice to have the option to buy another franchise once you've saved the money..

you could make this a nice feature by spending your money to buy it, and whatever is left over (if any) is added to some arbitrary figure that you will receive - so that when you start again with your new club you wont be so broke that you can't pay your players for the first few weeks

likewise if you go in debt to purchase a club the debt will be taken out of that same arbitrary amount and currrent club ownership will be less likely to consider you in this case

this way you could start a separate save file for your new ML club and still continue on with your old one

ragdoll physics is only for people falling over or reacting with the environment etc, i don't see it would help that much in PES

oh well,I think you're making it too much managementy

don't get me wrong, I think the biz side of sports sucks as much as anyone else..

the only reason I suggest this is because I was thinking the other day I'd like to start a new ML with a diff team but didn't feel like doing everything all over again - that's all

you would get to take on a whole new team without dealing with Celnini and the rest of those no-names

...therefore defeating the whole object of ML? getting promoted through the leagues and making your team better

I like the weather and time ideas, it would be good if you were an english side and had to play away against say the likes of a russian side and i guess during the winter the weather would be really cold, Also i think each side should have there own atmosphere's i mean whilst watchin locomotiv moscow in the champions league this season ive noticed that they have a strange atmosphere, same as itallian football sides they have also strange atmosphere's due to perhaps the lack of fans in the stadiums, wheres as with spanish crowds they tend to roar when there sides score. Again with English sides they have totally different atmopshere's too.

i think:
1) u should see the shirt being pulled
2) the wind making the shirt move
3) alot more player anmations, like when they miss a sitter they cover there face up
4) power bar on penalties
5) custom cup making, like on fifa 2000 where u could name it and everything

why's everyone so bothered about untucked shirts an all that....it should be penalties and stadiums and gameplay and game modes that they bother about...player appearance is fine

how does that defeat the purpose? It only upholds it - a great story of a lowly owner who takes a ragbag bunch of shite players, builds a championship team from the ground up and with all the profit buys *another* club..

and unless you are the worst player, even at 5*, you should only be promoted once, and never relegated

how difficult do you think it would be to do those kind of things though jasper - untucked shirts, gloves, more kinds of tape whatever

it'd take less then a day to implement all of that shit even i could do it and it would still make a big difference to the game, so why dont they pull their fingers out and just do it :)

Dryheat, this is one of the best letter that I have read.Good ideas. Why don't you forward it to [email protected]. Don't worry about the reply. As long as you send in your request, they will read it.Your ideas are really great. I am drafting my third letter to Konami despite the fact that I have not received any reply whastsoever on my earlier letters. Whether they read my letters or not, it gives me a good feeling that I have communicated what I would want in the game. On my third letter, I may even take a swipe at their Customer Service. As buyers, I feel that we have a right to be heard.
