Getting 1680x1050 on PES 2008 for PC?

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble getting 1680x1050 on PES 2008 for the PC.

I found a thread with a Rapidshare link and I've copied the 1680settings.exe into my PES folder and ran it, set the resolution and came out of it. I then fires up the PES.exe and then my monitor flickers for a bit and then reboots my computer! :-(

Any idea why it does this and how can I get the widescreen to work?? I really wanted to play PES in 1680x1050

My setup is as follows:-

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT
Samsung SyncMaster 206BW 20" Widescreen
2gb OCZ Platinum RAM
Windows Vista 32-Bit

What does the Event Viewer under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel say?

Have you tried one of the lower resolution settings files to see if you can replicate the problem?

I cant find anything thats relevant to the time in which PES made my PC restart

I'll give one of those lower res .exe's a go. I can play any other game in 1680x1050

You didn't tell me if the lower resolutions worked or not.

Anything over 1280x1024 wont work, but all other games work fine in a higher res :/
