Goalie stats

I know Goalie's have a set of their own stats now,but handling is not there, and I read somewhere that ''technique'' was the handling stat.Is this true?and if so are there any similar stats like ''response''=''reactions''???? What do you know? Because despite his stability and response and gk skill,Kahn still seemed to drop the ball an awful lot(his technique is only 71)is this a coincidence?

Technique =how good players control the ball when passed to them

I think for the goalie response is how quick they react to the ball as most good goalies have good response in the game i.e Khan,Toldo,Buffon

Keeper Skills = Shot-Stopping Skills

Response is indeed = to the Reaction of a keeper.

In terms of crosses, Balance helps keepers keep the ball in their hands, but I'm not too sure which stat affects this aspect during shot-stopping.

And I know what you mean about Kahn. For a keeper with 98 for GK Skills, his catching skills are slightly surprising.

If I don't know, Zygalski won't either.

I'm clevererer than he is don'tcha know.

Alternative Explanation:

You'll probably notice that Kahn gets better and better at catching the ball as time goes on. He had a shaky start with me, but as his Teamwork improved, he started playing a lot better, and - noticeably - taking more crosses with aplomb.

Goalkeepers really annoy me in PES3. They never catch the ball when it is lofted into the box. I've had keepers completely miss floated balls from 50m out and go straight in. They just stick their arms up and it goes past them. Also they always miss the ball for attackers to head into the net. And what the hell is it with when they eventually DO catch something, they have to fall over? It's like Konami thought 'we've gone to the trouble of putting in a new animation - let's use it as much as we possibly can.'

There that's my moan over. PS incase you're wondering the 'keepers I've used are Toldo and Buffon, so they're by no means shit 'keepers.

Don´t forget that "aggression" is also important for GKs (especially at crosses)

The point is, once Kahn has got there, he should catch it.

Aggression deals with their likelihood of coming far enough to catch it.

Yes, like I said, aggression is important for crosses, isn´t it ? :p

Yes, I'm not disagreeing with you. What I was getting at, was that Aggression deals with how far the keeper will come. Once he's come far enough, there's another stat that decides whether he catches or not, I think it's Balance. ;)

Sod the stats, I think Kahn, Buffon and Toldo are more than capable of catching a ball - why can't they in the game?

EXACTLY that's my point mate. What IS the handling stat? Some say technique and some say teamwork and others say stability

Well, it's Balance for balls that have been crossed in.

Shot-stopping wise, Goalkeeping Skills does the trick.

Still doesn't explain why Kahn catches like a fuckin' dyslexic penguin with arthritis though...
