Golden, Golden, Golden Oldies?

Flipper the Priest

The Northern Light
We all know how the PES series refuses to see an old dog die (see: Rivaldo, Batistuta, Desailly etc), by keeping their stats as fresh as the day they were on top of their game.

So how does it measure up this year? Does Rivaldo still have ridiculously high stats, or have Konami realised that he's not as good as he was in his overhead-kicking-against-Valencia heyday?

I presume Desailly's claggy anus is still lurking around the game, has his Defence and Response stats been slashed like they should?

This is one thing that has irked me about previous instalments of the series: the oldies are overrated and the young guns the opposite.

Panel, it's over to you.

Haven't got the game yet, but i presume that it's the like in PES3. Where Pele, Maradona and Platini to mentioned a few had super stats, but it's a question that Zyg or Dannyboy could answer...

I like my oldies with high stats, as it resembled them at their Peak. Although since Rivaldo is still playing, his stats should be low. But Batistuta ''Mr Blaaaast From The Paaast'', I still adore, even if he's playing for a Sunday League team in Qatar :) .

I like the oldies Cruyff, van Basten, Gullit, Eusebio, Puskas, Cantona etc. And I think the stats are a bit high but who cares it's fun to play with them.

players like pele, maradona, platini, etc should have high stats as they are legends. as for rivaldo, ok, he's still playing, but in pes 4, he's not with any team, you buy him from the shop, so they can take his stats up also as if he was 26 yrs old

It should be like this:

Retired legends have high stats, because they should be represented at the peak of their careers.

Active 'legends' like Rivaldo and Desailly should have stats representing their current ability/form, ie average to shite.

btw henry, i think flipper said Rivaldo against Valencia, not that he played for them.
