Golden star above the team badge! Why?

(This might be common knowledge among you die hard fans. But as a more casual player I was really surprised about this.)

I noticed this nice little detail today while playing on my ML with Blackburn. After a goal i zoomed in on a player in replay mode, and just happened to discover a little golden star on his shirt, above the team badge, italian major team style

Usually I think these stars represent that the team has won the league like 10 times or something (not entirely sure about that though)

Now I'm on the second year in Div 1, and in the first year there, I won the championship, and I'm 110% sure that it wasn't there at that time. So I guess that I got the star there because i won the ML Div 1? But I also won the Div 1 cup, though it seems less likely that I would get a star for that... Maybe it's beacause I won the double?

Did anyone else notice this and know what the deal is with the golden stars?

This has been discussed before.
One small star each time you win Div 1.
When you win it 5 times, they are replaced by a bigger star. And so on.

So at the end you have one huge star on your kit? :)

i started a thread on this ages ago!

on PES it does not signify euro cups, its div 1 championships!!!

i now have 4 little ones...and it looks mighty pretty at that!!!

why did they take off the s.american teams in the first place??? i never used them but still!

any reason why Jasper????

i didn't really use them, but i still think teams shouldn't be removed. just added. otherwise it's like a backwards step!!

they are better than most of the lower English/Italian clubs they've included (West Ham, Man City, Brescia, Chievo etc...)

Well,I'm glad about it because excluding them made way for sociedad and everton etc, know what I mean?but if we could have the whole lot it'd be good, but they couldn't enter champions league because then champions league wouldn't be champions league

true, but if they added 15 or so S.American teams we could have the copa libatadores (Their champs league) would've been cool. also winner of that vs Euro Champs League in "world club Cup"

...and then you have Championship Player Manager.

Not that it would be a bad thing.

If it gets too big, PES could suffer from the Baldur's Gate Insert Disc 4 syndrome.

no the star is for how many times you have won serie A, no other teams in the world have this. Madrid don't, barca don't, Man Utd don't; it's just italian teams. if memory serves me right every time you win it 10 times you get a big star above your badge. So far Inter have 1 star, Roma have none, Milan have none and Juve have 3 (correct me if i'm wrong, i'm not a huge fan of italian football as a whole)
