Strengths: 3 centre backs marking 2 centre forwards, numbers in midfield both offensively and defensively, very dangerous counter attack with 1 RWF exposing the empty space vacated by opp's overlapping leftback.

Weakness: Optimal judgement and anticipation required to overcome the lack of permanent and naturalised fullbacks in defence by shuffling the defence across the pitch depending on the location of the ball i.e. if the ball is on the left wing, the nearest of the 3 centrebacks attack the ball while the 2 in the box mark opp's centre forwards, leaving the "weak side attacker" on the right wing free. This player won't be active in the attack momentarily therefore it's safe to leave him alone.

3-4-3 with a diamond midfield, wide side mids and wide WFs could rip this formation apart. Any long ball to a wide WF would find him totally unmarked with easy crossing options.

And would you be playing CFs in the OMF positions for up to half the match?

That's all theoretical. Why don't u just put it to test. U using China,playing in my formation and go up against Korea CPU who plays a 3-4-3(though not your version).

If ur serious about trying it, then I must let u in as to how i setup this formation. I did nt use the strategies(left side attack,zone press etc.) to transit from defence into attack. I basically saved both formations to Formation A and B in semi-auto mode. I assigned auto for formation A(defensive mode) and the L2 button for formation B(offensive mode). Once im in possession of the ball, I would utilise the L2 button straightaway and vice versa. It takes some time getting used to having to toggle between 2 formations thruout the game but the benefits are worth the minor hassle that this brings.

I don't think there is a perfect formation, but, for me, i try to use a formation that would fit all of my disirable players on the team and provide enough advantages.

On my first master league, i used postplayer strategy combined with ace striking. My team was composed of Bierhoff and Zico, one can strike and other can just do headers. So, I used maradona as my left wing forward, and i had a formation that fit all of them.

its pretty messed up, but it was useful, about 3-4 headers each game.



Now that i restarted using real madrid, and i got some new players, i adopted the 4-4-2 again.

There is a massive hole in the middle of your players....

I don't think so. If you set to HIGH the defensive level of rmf, lmf and df you are covered in the middle. However it's obvious that in the game you have to set the position of the players in order to cover the holes! I can't show the exact position in a text file!!!

I use this formation and tend to push my fullbacks up on the overlap which I find very effectivewith my holding midfielder covering for when they attack.
