I find that to open up the defence, it you run backwards and forwards a few times just inside the penalty area, keeping control of the ball, you eventually open up gaps to eaith shoot, or set a player up.

yupit does

i do it just outside the penalty area then cut inside so ill be facing the goal at an engle on the strikers favoured foot then slam one into the onion bag (hopefully ;))

good tactic for that much needed late goal or whatever

Yeah, I do this as well quite often. However, recently it hasn't been proving so effective, so I've moved to a new tactic. I just take the ball down the wing, and as I've mentioned in the "Whip it in" thread, I just drill it along the ground, and it'll nearly always result in a goal, or at the very least a corner. Very effective way of getting a goal. Helps to have fast wingers for the build-up as well.

peps0r is correct.. i dont know which master dribblers you guys are using to just shuck and jive around the defenders are, but even if you are playing a team that has at least below average defense stats, they will be able to easily tackle the ball away from you.

go ahead and try it. run back and forth inside the box, see if the defenders allow you to keep possesion that easily. maybe if you lead two defenders on and make a quick pass to an open player..... but as far as an individual getting past all that defense on 5*... well, then i expect there to be quite a few more goals in the individual efforts section of the replays forum.
