You needed GTA to play it.
I can still remember the exact moment when I was filled with disappointment on Christmas day as well. Had to play the South Park game instead. Painful childhood memories bros.

Just to get us in the mood, here's some themes from the PS1 games:

Even though it's not a Rockstar original, the London theme is GOAT.

I still remember the first time I played the original on the PS1, it was on a demo disk (remember them!). Played it with a friend.... didn't really know what it was at first. Thought I was just a business man getting into his car and going to work or something. Took us a little while to figure out that you could pick up guns and shoot people!

Took me a few hours to understand the mission system. :erm:

Shop to! That's where they have built their reputation getting games out early.

I think shopto is also one of the retailers unable to send before the 16th.

No one aint getting it early.

I like the chant those guys in a line used to make in the first GTA. I don't know if they were protesters or what, but I would always run them over.

I've heard they are posting Friday the 13th. ;)
They are not going to post the game on the 16th to people in rural areas! And I don't think they will risk posting on the 16th with a risk of it not arriving on tge release date. They are posting first class what doesn't necessarily mean next day. I still have faith in them to post it early.
CODs developers told Shopto when and not to deliver and now they don't sell their games.
Rockstar have requested, not demanded.

:excited: :excited: :excited:

Some of the country songs were delightfully cheesy.

EDIT: I remember recording some of the soundtrack onto my Talkboy (remember those?), and then either speeding the song up, or slowing it down.... whatever I felt sounded best.

I always pictured them as chickens. I know they weren't of course, but had no other description for them. Heartbreaking when one of them managed to escape.

Also a pleasure killing the Elvis impersonators in GTA 2.

Thing is though, where the hell is North Yankton?

http://de.gta.wikia.com/wiki/North_Yankton

I don't see a North Yankton nor any snowy areas on the map. Will this be a specific, off-map mission (like the Liberty City one in San Andreas) or does it hint at future areas in DLC? I'm guessing the latter. They could do a lot with snow (skiing, snowmobiles, snowplows, etc)

I almost feel like there's too much countryside there tbh. Could've had more towns in the north. San Andreas had the right balance of city to country.

So the red horizontal line going from the beach area to Mount Chilliad must be the aerial tramway. And those purple lines must represent train routes. In Los Santos there's several coloured lines. I'm guessing they include both forms of Metro Rail (light rail above ground and subway).

And you can never have enough countryside/wilderness. I'm sure they'll be plenty of small towns and shit to keep us interested.

EDIT: I've changed the picture of the map to a clearer one

Three airports/bases? Not bad. I wonder if you can hi-jack a plane and fly it into another while mid-air. I tried that with choppers and planes on GTA4, but not success.

Well it looks like one major airport, an airstrip in the desert, and the military base, which I'm guessing we won't be able to land in without triggering a wanted level.

In GTA4, did you ever take a helicopter into the prison and gun as many people before getting killed yourself? Twas good fun.
