This is still not a good sequel. There were so many poor programming bugs in PES2, and unfortuntely they are still in PES3.

* Rail running - When using through balls it is still impossible to move your player off their assigned run. The annimation has to finish, and the game is unable to cut parts animation out, if the situation warrants it. Eg a player makes a run but the ball is blocked .Your player will still continue their annimation even though its meaningless.

Additionally the transfer of one animation too another is too slow. Players commonly take a touch of the ball before passing it even if youve pressed the button beforehand. The animation between trapping the ball and passing it needs to speed up.

* Centre Back AI is terrible. Even using defenders such as Nesta and Cannavaro your CB's have a tendency to completely forget to mark. Even worse is when they randomly just run to the 6 yard box for no reason. They do this and completely leave their attacker open to take a free shot.

* CPU balance is poor. It still defends like Italy and attacks like Egypt. Honestly playing against Tottenham you'd think you may get some defensive mistakes. Apparentely not. According to this game Tottenham (and every other team) have watertight defenses that make no mistakes.. Ever. Its like playing against a military unit rather than a Football back 4.

Offensively the CPU relies on your hopeless CB's and generaly poor marking to score, most of the goals I conceed are just cheap acts of CPU cheating. Eg the CPU passes to Duncan Fergusen who goes on an uncharacteristic mazey dribble, crosses with his right foot to an unmarked Wayne Rooney who smashes in a header. Yeh real life like Konami.

* Players still make poor runs ans stand around like lamp posts. Honestly seeing a winger just standing there and not making an effort to make an intelligent run irritates me no end.

I still enjoy playing PES but I think number 3 should have been better. The jump from PES2 too PES3 does not represent 1 years work in my opinion.
