Hi everyone,

I'm rabid_san, 31 and hail from southern Germany.

My first game of the franchise was "International Superstar Soccer Deluxe" on the SNES - ah the times ...

Then I stopped playing football games for a while (FIFA ruined it for me in the late 90's)

I got reintroduced to the PES-games during my college days when a mate of mine had PES 4 installed on his PC. We had fun evenings with 2-on-2 PES tournies.
I then got PES 5 for my old Xbox and my mate and I ushered in the tradition of simulating the big Tournaments of the World Cup and the EURO. Meaning that every two years the two of us play every match of the real tournaments in advance.

2006 - Sweden became World Champion beating Spain (Xbox)
2008 - Russia won the EURO by defeating Croatia (PS3)
2010 - Brazil became World Champion by defeating France (PS3)
2012 - Portugal won the EURO by defeating Poland (PS3)

Quite an ordeal - esp. the World cups with the 64 games. We make it through in 2 days usually though - but that's tradition for you.

Personally I jumped to FIFA after the 2009. PES6 on the Xbox360 played very well, but the lack of editing was annoying. PES08 didn't convince me and after PES09 I welcomed FIFA10's approach. It was a great and fun game an I really thought I'd not return to PES (except when I'd meet up with my buddy who always stayed with PES on his PS3) but then FIFA 11 was just bad.

I gave PES12 a shot and it was better ... and now the PES13 demo played even better than that. I'm looking forward to the newest iteration.

Well, for me an real-life football:

I heartily support SpVgg Greuther Fuerth (hometown team) who finally made the jump to the 1. Bundesliga (after 15 years in the second league).

Apart from that I simply enjoy good and suspenseful matches and the artistry of football (watching e.g. Messi delights my heart).

That's it, so let's have a good time together!

Good day, welcome to the forums :)

Good luck to your team in the top flight of German football this season, too. Be nice for you if they could establish themselves as a stable Bundesliga club.

Thanks.

@Berry: Well, they're off to a good start ... losing 0-2 at Offenbach (3rd League) in the DFB Cup for starters ...

At least now they can fully commit to the league *g*.
Oh and by the way next Saturday in the season opener at home they will face just Bayern Munich. Here's hoping for a miracle!
