Guide to Making your PES3 DVD into a CD for patching

Right, more problems! The "SLES_519.12" file does not have to be patched does it? Also, when i moved Soccer3.ISO i found out it was 628,604Kb...Is this correct? Sorry about the questions. Finally, the missing files that have to be downloaded are to be put in the "patched dvdrip PES3" folder right? and do not have to be checked by DVDScan?

I don't know the exact sizes of the files anymore, something about 630 MB should be ok. All files go in the same folder, even the SLES file and the other two which must be downloaded.

em..i got a ques...i manage to get a cd version of PES3 frm my fren...but its a confusion rip...do i apply the patch the same way??? i tried using the same way to patch as stated in the guide...but the screen wnt blank after he ps2 logo...pls help...

i used the same way..except i nv import the file [over] caz i heard thrs some prob...i hab it as well...with the file being bigger thn the one in the bin...but after the ps2 logo...the screen goes blank...any idea wat im doing wrng here??? whn i try to open the afs file..its corrupted...
steps i taken:
i hab a confesion rip...i extract the cd using CDRWIN and get a bin and a gue file(bin 775mb...i played it and it works fine)...i extract the DATA_E.afs...thn patched it with [jb 1.12.03anyripkit patch.rar]...and further patch it with [1.12to 25.12update.rar]...i thn import it back to the bin...and thn i import the [SLES file]...and i burn it using CDRWIN...

First try to run the game directly after patching with the 1.12., without the update. Like you said, if one of the files (data_e, over or sles) is even only 1 kb bigger than the default one the game will freeze after the logo.
Also you have to scan the image with ECCRegen before burning.

Hi, guys and Merry Christmas!

I've completed the ripping guide for my PES3 and have created a patchable PES3 CD rip, but my problem is applying a patch. (I got my PS2 chipped for christmas )

Here is where i stand:

17)open ppfomatic locate the 'patchablePES3cdrip.bin' in folder 'newpatchablebin', locate the pes3cdretail patch (you have downloaded).Click patch.

18)What remains in 'newpatchablebin' folder may look like the same file but it is in fact a patched file.

19)Burn this with nero as slow as you can...under recording option (top menu of main screen) 'burn image' find the file 'patchablePES3cdrip.cue' in folder 'newpatchablebin' and burn away.


I want to patch my game with the "jb. 1.12.03anyripkit" and the update "1.12.03 to 25.12."

I found myself a bit confused when this guide is sligthly different then JB's guide on lomungtung:


3) Extract the file ‘DATA_E.AFS’ onto your harddrive (Right mouse click on ‘DATA_E.AFS’ in cdmage- ‘extract’), keep cdmage open.

4) Using ppfomatic patch the ‘DATA_E.AFS’ (not the bin!) with 1.12.03anyripkit.ppf


5) Import (Right mouse click on ‘DATA_E.AFS’ in cdmage- ‘import’) the now patched ‘DATA_E.AFS’

6) Import the patch file ‘over.afs’

(Right mouse click on ‘over.afs’ in cdmage- ‘import’)

7) Import the patch file SLES_519.12

8) (Right mouse click on ‘SLES_519.12’ in cdmage- ‘import’)

9) Close cdmage- burn disc image-bin/cue with nero or whatever works for you.


My question is therefore:

Since the last guide seems more complex, does it matter which guide I use or will the outcome of my patching attempt remain the same?

Is it just me or is my head spinning....

Nope, first ripping, then make a backup of this rip, then extract the data_e.afs and patch it

Geez, patching is hard!

I've followed JB's Idiots Guide here on the forum and it left me a soccer3.iso patchable file. (No, data_e.afs file here)

So how do I get the data_e.afs ripped?

If you use CDMage to open the image of your rip, you should be able to access the DATA_E.afs file. You then right click on it and click on Extract. This puts it onto your hard disk. Keep CDMage open. Patch the DATA_E.afs file with ppfomatic using the patch you want (which you're following the guide for) and then go back to CDMage and Import the same file - but since it's now patched, it will be different in the game.

Uhm, when I open the image of my rip in CDMage, should I be able to see the contents of the DVD, eg. the 'data_f, g and s.afs'?

This shouldn't be in this thread but anyways...

Open CDMage.
Open your image in it.
Double click on "Session 1", the CD-pacman image on the left side.
This will reveal a new line of
"Track 1 [MODE2/2352][FLASH]..... etc.
Single left click on that and then on the right side of the screen, you should see the various data files.

You English isn´t that bad, why not trying to rip the English version ? Because I really don´t know much about Italian ripkits, and the problem is that a lot of patches, eg all jonboyo patches, only work with the English rip. My suggestion would be to follow our ripping guide, and everything will be fine.

thx... however do u know where can I get an italian ripkit? 'cause I think will be easier than finding a English PES3DVD where I live...

Ive just been trying to patch, the only problem is that i cant get
FLASH-PES3++RETAIL++CFN.rar ive been on the ftp: area and entered the password and username as 'we' but no joy, so is there any other way to get this file?
