when im extracting the data from the DVD using IsoBuster i get amessege (usually around 19%) saying "Sector 1259600 couldnt be read" i then have 2 options "Retry, select > Omit sector, replace with all zeros or replace with dummy data, or quit. How long should the extracting take?

ihave the same problem, it come up the playstation 2 logo an them nothing more?
i have to skip de dvdscan beckause the dvdscan dosent work?
then in the end when i have to change the mode 1 /2048 to
mode 2 /2353, i choose mode2 / 2352 isted of the 2353 beucas the 2353 did not was there only 1252?

Hi I'm new to this patching but I spend loadsa time reading these forums.
I have a problem with DVDScan2. I managed to download it fine then when I opened it I got a message saying COMDLG32.OCX was missing. Anyway I managed to find the file byu searching the net and downloaded it.
BUT........now I have a different error message. This comes up when I try to open DVDScan2. The message is:
"System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770)."
Do any of you know what this means? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

You don't really need to read through the thread, just the guide in the first post. It's all there.
Try following the guide, If you have any problems or questions, let us know.
I just had a look at the guide and it is really in basic terms. You can't really simplify it more than that. He tells you exactly what to click on. What are you stuck on?

When I used DVDscan, it said something like "scan is complete". It doesn't really let me "remove" the DVD check, unless all I do is scan and after the confirmation message comes up is what's called "removing" the DVD Check.
Yea, I had to pick mode2 /2352, I assumed it was a typo and that it's not 2353.
2353 is wrong, of course it should be 2352
To all the people with "mscomctl.ocx, comdlg32.ocx, etc. problems" : The solution was posted by my in this thread, so please read before asking again and again. If you skip this step the game of course will freeze after the PS2-logo.

The only advice I can give you is to search for alternative download-sites for DVD-Scan with google and maybe get a newer or older version which will work.

What with other games, are they working without problems ( originals and backups) ? I have the same problem like you sometimes, I have a low quality chip.
Did you scan the image for errors ? Have you tried it with different types of CDRs (Verbatim are the best - burn at 4x speed) ? What burning tool have you used ?
