Guide to Patching WE10 (PS2 DVD)

I was replying to streetdisciple and then attempted to answer your "huh?" which I thought referred to my answer to him.

Are you still trying to ask whether a CD drive can read a DVD disk? The answer is quite simply and obviously: never.

Hi. The original WE10 game is a DVD so you'll need a DVD drive to be able to read it. A CD drive won't work. Try changing the highlighted drive to a DVD drive and it should work.

oic. I know that aCD drive cannot read a DVD disc, but the screenshot actually shows that im on a dvd-rom? Pretty confusing there.

I was actually still stuck with my previous question :

do u mean the "[2:0:0] ZJ6132V ATG474 (E: )" that part? As it is, that is the only option i've there and im unable to "change the highlighted drive to a DVD drive "

ISO image size?

Hi Guys,

I'm having a little trouble with this and just want to make sure I'm not the one screwing up - can somebody post the exact size the ISO should be after you've ripped from your import disk (ie before patching)?

I tried to patch the latest fernando's patch,
and I have patched it with ppf-o-matic program.
However, it said that the patching was successful,
the size of the iso file is still the same.(4337664kb)
I want to know what is the problem.
I have also tried to burn the image, but I get same
error like somebody else. It was still in japanese.
I followed the correct order. But maybe i think its the
problem that the dvd disc might be locked for some
reason.

Anybody, please help me out here !
Thanks a lot.

How are you suppose to patch a Max File ne1?
No way to ever do that. You either patch the game itself or download an updatd option file (where stuff has been updated using ingame edit mode or an option file editing program on a pc).

You need a chipped or modded PS2. Read the index sticky thread or check the link in the first post to find out more. To download a patch you need to go to the appropriate thread and click on the relevent link. If it doesn't work, post in that thread to inform the thread starter or patchmaker. Also - only PS2 PES5 patches will work on PS2 PES5 so don't try to apply patches made for different games. A WE10 patch will not work on PES5 and a PC patch will not work on the PS2 version of the same game.

Try a DVD-R instead.

Don't worry about the image size. Delete your image and start the guide from the beginning. If you follow it correctly, it will work.

When I rebuild the ISO it stays at 1.6gb. Any idea what the problem is?
Burn the ISO and see if it works. If it does, then there's no problem.

We10 - Ntsc -> Pal?

I've seen different posts about this topic, but for my situation I did not found a clear answer yet!.

I have a PS2 (European version) with the FLIP-TOP Cover and Swap Magic 3.0 CD and DVD 2.0. From the original DVD I've created an .ISO image with DVD-Decrypter and patched the latest Fernando english patch.V5 with ppf-o-matic into this .ISO image.
Before I gonna burn this edited .ISO image I would like to know three things for sure:

- Is it necessary to convert the patched .ISO image from NTSC to PAL?

- if yes, what tool gives the best result, because I've seen a lot of discussions about this. If no, how does it works to play NTSC games with my European PS2 and Swap Magic?

- After this english patch, can I also add the Revolution sound patch?

Thanks to everyone who can help me with these questions!
