ok, i know this is probably on the wrong thread but i need to ask people who play both PES and WE.
i'm considering buyin WE7 cos i've seen past WE patched versions and they look amazin. but since u guys have been playin both WE and PES which do u prefer? a patched WE or the standard PES.
which will u play the most WE7 patched or PES3?

i'd appreciate if someone could help me with this as i don't know whether to jus wait for PES3 or buy WE7 now and then get patches when they're available. is it possible that PES3 could be in anyway better than WE7 or are they jus the same game but WE7 will have patches so that the strips look better.

i will most probably play a patched WE7 rather than pes3, depending if the commentary language can be changed to english. pes3 will be harder to patch though as it is on DVD

In terms of gameplay, WE7 and PES3 are supposed to be the same. The languages will be different and there is a suggestion that the squads could be slightly updated but that doesn't really matter as we can fix that using the option from the shop.

I would prefer to play WE7 with a proper translation patch with updated sponsored kits rather than PES3 with plain kits (even if the commentary is better than past PES games - as I mostly turn if off anyway).

If money is no problem, you can be playing it within a week thanks to www.thebarras.co.uk and (for chipping) and www.play-asia.com for the game.

There was a mini-tournament for WE7 in Beckton, East London on Sunday. If you can find them, maybe there could be one near you and you can go down to play the game a bit.

Could I just order Winning Eleven 7 online? I mean, can it be sent to North Wales from Japan or something?

If so, where can I get this?

Of course, it will have to be translated and patched and everything, where and how can I do this?

are there any problems that occur through patched versions (i don't mean glitches or errors from dodgy patches) i mean can u still edit the players as usual or are they fixed cos they are from a patch?
i'm 70% on the idea of buyin WE7 from play-asia.com and gettin a slide card from PSX services. (anyone wanna help make it 80% or even 90%?)

NathCCFC, yes they can send it to you.
Check out www.play-asia.com
That's where most people here ordered it from - we didn't receive it from a special magic carpet courier!

Pro-evo, players are never 'fixed' and can be changed how you like. A patch just saves different settings for the game such as players and pics of kits with updated ones and so on.
Never heard of any problems with using a patch. There's enough info and people to help you out too.

Go for it!

Cheers for the info, Zygalski. But I think I'll give it a miss.

I can wait untill November 7th for PES3 to come out.

Zygalski, there are 2 main dates from various sources. Some say October 26th, and some say November 7th.

The sources include Game Chart (October 26th) and Amazon (November 7th).

so i was just wondering can the ball be curled from normal shots
e.g if u are at a tight angle can u curl the ball away from the keeper to swerve back towards goal and go in - like when ljumberg did it it real life for arsenal a while ago

just want to vent some frustration about we7. got it on thu there and have to say im slighty disappointed with it. the graphics are only slighty better than pes2, but it has some well dodgy running in it. im a bit pissed off that its so hard to score at the minute, getting a shot in around the box is desperate. every single tackle seems to give a freekick, never mind if it's a brillant tackle cleanly winning the ball. so frustrating!!! every single defence is like a blend of baresi, moore, ferdinand and nesta rolled into one, bloody bastard to break down. yeah there's some nice touches to we7, like the first time volleys, but what the hell happened to the power in the headers?!!?!?more like back passes to the keeper. mayb i just haven't adjusted to we7's ways but so far i see pes2 as a superior game in gameplay alone.
Zygalski any word on that patch yet?? im still haven't give up hope yet on we7, don't get me wrong it's a great game but just at the min it's pissing me off.

If you can figure out where to find it try to put the stars down to make it a bit easier or are the already down ?
How much did WE7 cost ?
I take it you PS2 is chipped how much did that cost ?
Coz i want to get my PS2 chipped so i can get WE7 patched, but that website ZYG gave was all the way in Glasgow and i live near St. Andrews and glasgow is 2 or 3 hours away from me.

You don't have to go to Glasgow. A courier picks up the PS2 from you, takes it there to be done and brings it back too.

slasher, take the difficulty down a bit and once you get used to how it works, you can go back up again and it will feel much better. Try it.

Zygalski You Know This Kind Of Stuff :
and are you going to buy PES3, if you already have a patched WE7 ? (is it worth it)

How much does WE7 cost in £'s ?

Can you play an unpatched WE7 on a version 3 UK PS2 without it being a chipped PS2 ?

How much does it cost (ALL IN ALL) starting with an un-chipped PS2, to get it playing a patched WE7 ? (Is it over £100)

THANK YOU PLEASE.

I will be getting PES3, yes.
It'll be worth it for everything being in English.

WE7 costs $59.50 which is £37.11 plus P&P which changes depending on how long you can wait for it.
http://www.play-asia.com/paos-13-00c0f000.html

WE7 is a Japanese game and a UK PS2 cannot play foreign games without a chip or other mod.

A patch doesn't cost anything except some time and a blank CD. You can get a Slide Card or Flip Top Lid for about £45 with a boot disk. Add the price of the game which is about £40 and the total is about £85 to play WE7 now.

Thank you please indeed! Yakshimash!

But can't you just get the patch for English menu's and the like anyway ?

So if i'm having to get my PS2 chipped, how much (and how long) do they charge (take) to come and get it, chip it and bring it back roughly ? (coz i know your in london and obviosly it would be different for you)

(I know you don't know everything, but i'm just trying to weigh up whether i should just do it or not) i CAN definetely handle 85 squid though.
But i really want the patched version of WE7 to be better than PES3, so i don't have to buy both.
Coz i want to have money left man.

Using a Slide Card or a Flip Top Lid is an alternative to chipping. You either have a chipped PS2 or you have to use these other methods. Hope that makes it more clear.

Chipping prices vary depending on where you look.
Usually between £90 and £120 last time I looked.
