Na I agree completely, the only reason I played it more on the xbox was because the ps2s were always taken  More to the point of the thread- I thought the pace of the game was perfect..and the animations were topclass.

Does it seem harder to play using the xbox controlls??

That's pretty much personal question and depends what you play every day and whether you are able to change over easily. You'll hear generally different comment. This is from my own experience. I own all of the consoles plus PC (work for gaming magazine) so I'm pretty OK with all controllers.
To me, it is not hard at all to play PES on Xbox. The analogue stick is a lot stiffer than on PS2, which makes it easier to control the player. It is also more accurate. The triggers are great. Give you the exact feeling how hard you want to press it, especially right trigger which is used for running and trajectory. A, B, X and Y buttons are as on PS2, even though they are more analoguos than on PS2. Black and White buttons replace R2 and L2 respectively and they are not hard to reach at all.
The whole hand position is different from PS2 and I think that;s what makes people go away from Xbox controler towards PS2. As a matter a fact, Xbox controller is more natural in your hands. Some people also complain that it is too big, but they probably used old controller, not newer S controller.
In the end, there are plenty of controller converters so you can connect whatever you like the most.

I jsut want to add that it takes few matches to get used to, but after that, you will not even notice. I played PES3 on PC with Xbox controller and it's great. I seriously do not understand why is there such a fuss about controllers?
