Have any of you played both the pro evo demo and the fifa 09 game?

Bought Fifa 09 today. First fifa ive bought in 5 years. Quite suprise how good it is - 11v11 online is brilliant and is worth the purchase. PES though still has the edge in gameplay. Fifa is just a bit too slow paced for me - seems too much of a sim. Its not what im used too after playing PES for so long - which is more faster paced and more arcadey. You always seem to be on your toes in pace with your heart in your mouth as you race in or work for that goal. I dont get that with Fifa.

I was happy with the PES 2009 demo. The gameplay is back to the way it should be. Its fun again after last years disaster. Cant wait till release date!!!.

The presentation and licences of FIFA with the gameplay of PES would be the perfect football game.

lol, i swear the pes demo is actually a slower pace than fifa 09 lol! There's also 3 different speeds in fifa 09, slow being the speed it was in fifa 08, so that argument fails.

And I dont get your point about the game being a sim. Isnt that a good thing. I'd rather play a simulation than an arcade, which you have just labelled pro evo...

But at least you are willing to accept that fifa 09 is a great game.

Really? a sim?? of what? not REAL football, neither game is, not after watching the games on Sky Sports today. If they were true sims it would be full of misplaced passes, scrappy play, passing BACK the way and over hit croses. People have a view on the way football SHOULD be, but it very very rarely plays that way in reality, so neither game can be a true sim.

i havent played the pes demo yet but i have played the fifa one and, to be honest, it seemed almost identical to the last one in my opinion. The fact that Be a Pro career mode lasts only 4 years has really turned me off it- i would love starting in league 2 and trying to work my way through the leagues- fifa should be able to let you do that as, unlike pro, it has the lower english leagues but only giving you 4 years means it isnt worth it.

I was always going to buy pro but was tempted to get FIFA as well, i've now decided not to bother. they obviously want to sell the next edition by saying "now be a pro mode lasts 20 seasons"- they could have done it this time but opted not to just to help sell the next one imo, so fuck them. A 21 season career mode on pro it is then!

yeah 4 years is a crap amount of time. cant wait for pes 2009

Comparing demo-to-demo. PES09 is better.

Comparing FIFA09 game to PES09 demo. FIFA is 10x better.

It was me vs my friend. He was Chelsea I was Arsenal. We played at Wembley Stadium, night/rain. Literally I've never experienced anything like it. I wanted to take his FIFA09 game home with me. I was blown away.

I'm saying now, If I don't get that same feeling when I buy PES09. I'm returning it to get FIFA09.

i have bought fifa 09 and downloaded pes 2009 on PS3...

Fifa 09:

be a pro mode...AMAZING ADDICTING excellent controls...like when your teamate has the ball you press X to call for a pass, press triangle to ask them to through ball it etc.

gameplay: top notch..u can move in loads of directions whereas in pro u can only move in 8.... in the settings you can configure whether to let fifa assist, semi assist or u manually pass,cross,through ball, cursor change

graphics: really hard but fifa wins on this

licenses: fifa wins of course..they have loads of sadiums that r really realistic, loads of boots, like 20 adidas boots about 5 nike ones, 15 reeboks(estimates)
loads of club licenses although netherlands (national team) is FAKE

edit mode(creation zone): making players is very accurate ...i like it alot,

PES 2009 demo: gameplay...a joke

when u run its sounds like someone is playing a drum for each of your touches...really...how can u hear the touches in ascreaming stidum(realistic...not)

its so COMPACT..no space at all..pitch seems smaller this year

licenses: 4 nike boots, about 6 adidas, scarce amount of licenses for teams

So far FIFA 09 mudered pes 2009's demo..but i think pes 2009 will be much better than its crappy demo but i am loing fifa

don't forget fifa 09 is the first fifa game i bought in my life and i have been pes all my life....so FIFA WINS THIS YEAR SO FAR

and i loved pes 2008 last year but lets be honest, this years pro evo is just a bad version of it. clunky and crap. fifa used to be the best game then it got taken ofgver by pro evo, now though,m its def the best again

Yeah but that completely goes against what pro evo is about. Pes3 was the very pinnacle of the series and that was because you had to patiently break teams down and work for it instead of this shit now where you just need someone quick to skin everyone.
It is precisely its "acadey" feel now that lets it down and has gone and given the arch enemy fifa (which has ripped off the GREAT pes3) the edge.

I disagree.. Scoring goals in PES3 and PES5 had a GREAT "Feeling" -whereas- scoring Goals in FIFA09 is just as good as the Goalkeepers in PES09.

Build Up Play is great though, but because Goal-Scoring lacks so much Feeling.. it just Ruins the game for me.

So what can I say about EA Sports FIFA?? Seems to be on the right track, but still isn't that GREAT. They need to get more Feeling into FIFA; we need to Feel the Differences between players, and Scoring Goals needs a LOT of Improvement.

ONCE they get that right, FIFA will be a great game.

And as for the latest version of PES, Cannot comment on PES09, haven't played the demo yet.

Neither of the pes games were arcade except for pes 08. This year, it seems that it's gone back to a sim.

I bought Fifa yesterday, the first fifa i bought in more than 10 years. And to be honest, PES09 will have to pull out all the stops to beat fifa this year. I am really impressed by FIFA09!
