Haha i thought this for a while....but that was long ago....anyway first of all you need a decent player such as Beckham to take the free-kick or anyone in general with good kicking accurancy etc. Secondly you need to line the free kick up so the ball is pointing the direction you want it to go. Next, personally (i dont no if this actually works but i press these buttons have done since PES2 and it seems to wrk!) I press R2, Square and DOWN (on the d-pad) and make sure the power bar is about just under half full.

Like in normal football the furtehr away from teh goal the more power u need and the harder it gets! Keep trying it and you'll soon score a peach of a free kick!

Have a look in the goal gallery and you'll see alot of good free kicks. I remember some good advice on some old threads. Use the search button and hopefully you'll find those threads.

My advice is if your near the box put the power button upto half way and press r2. And the more furthur you are use r1 and a little bit more power. Training mode is the best and practice with the best like beckham.

free kicks in WE9 are mkuch better, easier to score, but not too easy, ive scored a few so far, obviously easier with people like figo who have great free kick stats

I scored in my second match with Juninho from Brazil... curled gracefully into the top corner and the keeper had no chance...

I have no tips as I don't think it's much different to previous.

I scored plenty of them in we8 but haven't got any this time round as yet. I played a game against my girlfriend though (her first ever go) and she beat me 1-0 with a peach of a free-kick. Very embarrasing!

From PES 4 experience:

-Direct it so that its just inside where you want it to go (so a little bit in from the corners)
- Hold Up and R1 and fill the power bar so that it is a little over half way
- Apply curl by pressing either left or right (depending on where you want it to curl)
- Begin to celebrate after free kick nestles in the goal
