Have you ever got relegated? In ML?

Well, it looks like i am nearing relegation zone and i am in my fourth year of Master League and my teams been performing bad since the start of the new season. Right now we are in the 18th of the table and just nearing the midseason negotiation period. The team went through the last season on 4th position.

And i have a reasonable squad now, none of the players who i want to negotiate with ,seem interested. So i got a couple of future potentials and newcomers and threw out some regular (default) players.

and now this seems to be something like a mistake. My newly signed players including star striker Klose, doesnt seem the find the net in any manner. i started facing goal draughts and running matches on a length without a shot on goal. and looking at the whole deal, i am losing like hell,.. what seems to be the effect? (btw, i have some losers for MF's includes some default players like Dodo, Ettori and whatever i do, i cant seem to be able to buy new players, even if i got the money. i am playing on TOP difficulty).

Any one in the same situation? lol

Pretty similar situation myself:

In 2nd season having got promoted in 1st. I'm in 18th pos with 28 points, 3 points off safety with 11 games to go :unsure:

I spent to much at end of 1st season so had to release half my squad just to not trigger game over. I was left with 16 man squad, ALL default players!!! :crymore:

Strange thing is I'm actually really enjoying the excitement of a relegation battle. I managed to get Anelka, Nani and Menez on loan mid-season so think I've got a chance of staying up now. It's gonna be tense though! :shocking:

I thought I got relegated once and was so angry and upset! I had to laugh when i realised i STARTED the game in Div 2!

wow... u got three awesome players to stay up... well good luck with that ... i hate it when we use one player as target man for one match completely, then he will be unavailable in the coming couple of matches due to fatigue. for eg, i use Klose up front, but once used in a complete match, i cant get him to do a proper performance until two matches later...so its like, win one game, lose the next two... i am struggling a bit.. but its awesome to keep sticking within the relegation range..lots of excitement..like u said..

need to wait to get some stars on loan... lols..

i bid for him lots of times... hes on free transfer, but still... the guy just doesnt move in, even after increasing his transfer fee and salary , everythin... my team rating is B. any ideas?

try increasing the salary, transfer fee- and lowering the contracr years. every time they put me on hold, i decrease the contact years and they accept.

Yeh Zaki is quite easy to get, hes not as good as in real life on it but hes still good

i think my defense is also a big problem... i got lucio, berger, zapotocny, el moubarki, stein, ruskin, jaric, baumann... not much of big name players... and my defense is more like sh$**...need to find some good stopper backs... to join lucio...

i would like more compitition in the ML as whenever i play as a decent team i never seem to loose. i dont mind winning most of the time but i want the comp teams in the league to atleast put pressure on me.

No, worst I've ever finished was 6th in the top division. However, I advise that you spend money in the transfer window on loans, then get free transfers at the end of the season. Loans are a lot more effective on this game, although there is also a glitch with them.

Could be worse; you could sign Jagielka.

Anyway, where have Jaric, Ruskin and El Moubarki gone? They're by far your best defenders.

I would kill for a player like Jags right now!! Had to release Jaric, Ruskin and El Moubarki after overspending at the end of my first season. I had game on autosave so couldn't go back. Didn't want to start all over again so I released half my squad to be able to continue.

Haha. I'd love Beevers to be on the game. But Steve Watson is doing pretty well for me at the moment.

i started losing after i found that i was winning continously with big scores, i just changed my formation for a challenge and from that day onwards its been a fight to keep within the division. that made this mode more awesome. and when i try to get to back to my winning formation, it doesnt seem to bother anymore, i still lose... lol...

rite now for a few matches i found 4-3-3 to be very effective with a sweeper in the back. but still, i need to get (or loan) some match winners in the transfer season. Kaka to Man City, anyone? (i am not Man City lol but i did want to get him )

I loaned Kaka, when I was doing a quick ML with Man City (to win the D2 league and cup, which I had missed first time round)

It shows how silly the loans can be, I loaned Torres, Kaka, Nesta, etc for sod all. On my normal ML, I don't try and take advantage of this, I've only loaned players like Ivanovic, Whelan, Brunt, Richard Garcia, Delap and Ramsey.

I'd try and get Defoe on loan if I was you. He's the reason I went up in my first season. That boy knows where the net is!!
