i am trying to set up PS3 with HDMI but my screen just goes black then back to the start, any help would be great, thanks

I had some sort of issue like that when i was doing it, then it started working. Can;t remember what i did exactly, just a bit of fiddling with cable and restarting the PS3, then suddenly it worked. You do have to select it as the input in the system settings i think though.

If you change the type of cable used to connect the system, the picture may not be displayed. If this happens, turn off the system and then turn it on again by touching the power button on the system front until it makes a small beep (about 5 seconds). The picture will be displayed at the system's default resolution.

This happened to me also, you put in your normal scart, change the settings to hdmi, i.e the connection settings, then the screen will go black, then you put in the hdmi and it will work fine

Unplug the scart component from your PS3 & plug in the HDMI cable. Plug HDMI cable to tv. Switch off PS3, hold the power button down until it makes a beep. Go through your ext until you get a picture. Profit!!
