I just recently became really interested in soccer - you must excuse me, I live in the USA and I am just in the habit of calling football soccer, especially since football is a different sport here (but I'm sure you all know that). I played when I was younger, but when I got older, all of my friends played basketball and football, so I fell away from the sport. Now, probably because of the World Cup, my interest has been renewed, and with that I must get some soccer game; and from what I have read on many forums, Winning Eleven is hands down the best game for soccer (I haven't seen a post where someone thought FIFA was better than Winning Eleven).

I haven't followed soccer in years, so I am really behind in who is who and what is what. Since I do live in the states the only soccer that is televised, besides the World Cup, is MLS, and from what I read it's not the best league. I've heard that the European leagues are the best, however, I doubt I will ever get to see it. I recently read in my SI about the World Cup, and it seems like many have already locked Brazil in to win. I am still going to support my home team (USA), even though, from what I have read, they probably won't make it out of their group.

When I pick the game up, I will probably have questions and need help, so you'll probably see more from me in the future.

@Malagacf:

It's still not big over here, I can say the popularity has rose recently, but other than around the World Cup you really don't get much coverage of soccer (even on the all sports networks we have). Our summers here are dominated by baseball (which I find to be a tad boring).
