HELP!!! Beating defenders one-on-one???

Could anyone help me with ways to beat defenders when you are one-on-one with them? I usually try the sidestep or the 360 degree spin but they hardly ever work and I lose possession. Could anyone please help me???

What I sometimes do, is go a bit right and press R2 and then the defender goes on way and you go the other. Ill get a vid on hopefully.

ok thanks, I would appreciate that. Thanks Zyg I will try the shot fake. I do it when 1 on 1 with the goalie but never thought to use it on a defender. Thanks guys.

I tend to go diagonally one way then cut in the opposite angle, so if you're running top-right then do that then cut down to bottom right and it usually gets you past the defender...

sidesteps, sudden runz, 360z, stepoverz, zigzagz... a bunch

Quick turns usually works. Dribble forward-left and then turn froward-right and sprint.

But it is quite true if syou have a decent dribbler you can dribble through the whole opposition team using just the directional buttons, just time your turns, if you have high Dribbling Accuracy you can leave it later and make a tighter turn which will get you more space for a pace shot etc. However it takes practice.
