How do I do a proper overhead bicycle kick? I can't seem to get my players to face the ball when i cross using L1+Triangle or Double O to do a bicycle kick.

the different volleys all occur depending on different positions and actions of the receiving player, and where the ball is in relation to their body. in my experience it's not something that can be engineered, rather when the opportunity comes you take it.

I don't think there's necessarily a way to do it. Just time the shot right when you've got your back turned away from the goal and you should be able to pull one off.

I've done many in the past two weeks for some strange reason. Scored a cracker because of it. Yeah, just keep trying and you'll be there in no time. Good luck.

cheers for the...appreciation? me struggling with words now!

another tip would just to go into training and put some long balls in towards the goal and try some volleys, you're bound to get one some how

I've tried countless of times but they either scissors those long balls or just straight fashion volley them..i've did one once but i crossed the ball and it deflected a defender.Luckily,my player was there and he tried an overhead bicycle kick and it was a cracker.I can't seem to get it right again...Any real guildlines to practice upon?

You could try R1 and R2 together whilst the ball is in mid-air whilst using the directional buttons and move the player into where he needs to be to execute the over-head. Give that a try in training.

your problem

hi there
the way to do a proper volley is easier when you press dash or sprint twice when the ball is coming or close to your players chest and then double tap shoot when the ball is chested high in the air and hell do a bicycle kick or a normal volley.
what platform are you playing pes on ?
if its in ps2 this is the way
when you press RI twice when the ball is coming or close to your players chest (when you double press R1 it does a higher chest in the air so its easier to do bicycle kicks and volley etc.) and then double press [] when the ball is chested high in the air and he'll do a bicycle kick or a normal volley.

i actually spent a while testing all this a while back but never got round to posting

there's no need for this double tap business

although the R1 idea is a good one. normally when a player receives the ball he tries to get it to his feet as quickly as possible. if you hold R1 as it reaches him he trys to keep it in the air (ie big chest) this allows you to then try and turn the player away from the goal and press square at the very last moment to allow the overhead kick. be carefull wih the R1 press though, if you are holding a direction he will try to control it in that direction.

go into free training and just practice, best to use players with high technique so the ball doesn't go flying, i prefer classic brazil!

good luck and have fun

Yes, I agree with that. I'm just going to do that now, thanks for the tip! ;)
