Help needed: Detailed formation tweak for my two Forwards

Hey,

Im very interested in changing my formation a lot and am a keen reader of the advanced formation thread. Currently i have gone back to a formation with two FW, either in a 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-2-2 formation.

Just a quick question, you know on the default templates the two attackers are fairly similar in position, I just want to ask what changes do people do with their position, arrows e.t.c. Im currently using Milan a lot and want to know other people's oppinion on how to place my two forwards. Anyways thanks in advance for any advice.

If you're using Milan, I'm assuming that your two forwards are Gilardino and Shevchenko. In the default Milan formation Gilardino is positioned quite far out to the left, which I've never found particularly useful, since he's not much of a dribbler.

It really depends on how you play, but if you're using 4-3-1-2, you probably don't have that much width, so I'd guess you're playing mostly through the middle. Bearing that in mind, here's what I'd suggest:

Bring Gilardino right into the centre and drop Shevchenko back a bit, either slightly to the right or slightly to the left. Change his role to SS and give him an attacking arrow that puts him running to one side of Gilardino and another running central. Then give your attacking midfielder arrows that are the mirror image i.e. opposite to Shevchenko. This should mean that you've got two attacking players buzzing around Gilardino as a target man. A few one-two's around the box should open up a lot of space to take advantage of Shevchenko's mobility and finishing and Gilardino's strength and aerial ability.

If you play the 4-2-2-2, why not do a similar thing, except drop Sheva directly behind gilardino and have your two AM's running to either side?
