HELP: PES4 Won't Load

I'm pulling my hair out here. Game installs fine but whenever I click on the settings icon or the PES4 icon, neither one will load, not even a glimmer of a screen.

I've installed the game onto my sons PC and everything works fine, my PC is a higher spec system too which really hurts.

I checked the log file generated by DrWatson and it's showing some kind of "unable to verify CRC checksum", whatever that is.

Any help getting this to run would be appreciated.

Thanks

SYSTEM SPECS:

Windows XP SP1 - 1gb PC3200 RAM - AMD Athlon 2800 - Gainward NVidia 5900 128mg GFX Card.

i'd look to make sure that your video and sound drivers are all up to date, as well as windows as much as you can.

you might want to check to see how fragmented your hard drive is as that might be having something to do with it as well.

do you have a SATA hard drive in your system, or just a regular hard drive?

does anything come up in the event viewer?

Thanks for replying.

Video and sound card drivers are all up to date, latest NVidia drivers all installed. Drives are all defragged.

Yep, I am running a SATA drive. I'd forgotten all about that. That's the main difference between my sons system and mine. Could this be the cause?

I'll give it another try later and check the event log, I had forgotten all about it.

Email Konami with a zipped version of your pes.exe file and they'll send you another one. You're game is using a copyright - prevention system that ensures you can't copy the game and then play it without paying for it. The new .exe they'll send you should sort this out.

problem sorted out?

ive had simular problems, basically because of a nostromo gamepad was 1 reason, and then a bad driver for my xbox pad.

or you could not email konami and go to www.gamecopyworld.com and find the no-cd fixed exe for the game and see if that helps. that helped quite a few people with pes3!

Do you have a joystick plugged in? PES has issues with certian joysicks and controllers, try unplugging it before you launch the game.

Fixed, Sorted, Done.

Thanks for the replies all. Un-plugged my Saitek X45 USB stick and it fired up and worked. Would you believe it.

I'm ahving similar problems too. I have just installed PES4 and get nothing when I click on the PES4 icon. What really makes me very angry is the PES4 demo does work and it was the demo that made me buy this game. I would really appreciate some help.

Systrem Specs: AMD Athlon 3000, 512 MB Ram, 80 Gig HDD, Ati 9200 (Yes I know its rubbish but this is the first modern game i've bought in a year), Windows XP SP2

Bully2100 you mentioned problems with a nostromo pad. I'm having the same problems with one. A number of people in fact seem to be having problems with USB gamepads and PES4. Does anyone have a solution to this? Update the USB drivers, or anything like that? I've fiddled with a number of settings, but haven't had any luck. The game runs perfectly as long as the gamepad is not plugged in. Even if i boot up the game, then plug the gamepad in, it all falls apart. I can't work out a solution to this. If anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I found a solution to the nostromo gamepad if anyone is interested. I changed the driver of the gamepad, in device manager, to the Thrustmaster Rage 3d gamepad. While the game will still call the gamepad the nostromo, it will actually boot up correctly. If anyone needs more details on this, just email me.
