First of all, I love PES5 and most aspects of PES5; the music, stadiums, players movement, the menu and a couple of other things in PES5.
BUT, there is one thing that I HATE, HATE, HATE!!! And that is CHEATING. I have to say, this game cheats and it's cheats big time. I have never in my gaming career, play a game that cheats. Hell, even PES4 was slightly better but not a lot different than PES5.
At this point I am so fed up of PES5 cheating.
Example 1
I got so mad that I went to the edit mode and modified 2 teams and set every player abilitity to 99 and checked all the special abilities. And with my own eyes, I saw the AI clearly cheating. The AI will push you, they will block you, when you have a scoring opportunity, they will foul you and NOT being booked. And all this in a 3 star setting.
The AI can counter attack so well like Chelsea or Manchester United but when you are a good team, forget it. With PES4 or PES3, counter attack so awesome but in PES5 forget it. In your dreams.
Example 2
If a shot it taken at goal or if I have a throw-in, it's not given. I have seen many instances where I am supposed to take a corner or throw-in but it's not given to me.
Example 3
I have actually taken the ball properly without any foul and a free kick is given. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. And then when the COM takes the ball, no free kick is given.
Example4, Why is that the defenders get the ball or when you are on a counter attack get the ball most of the time but when they attack, they attack like a speeding bullet.
I have tried every formation, strategies, tactics, substitution..... You name it, I have done it. There is a lot more cheating than expected in PES5. Don't get me wrong, I love PES5 but when it comes down to Fair Gameplay, it SUCKS BIGTIME!!
Some of you may argue or reply that it's challenging and it's fun. But here is my reply. What are the difficulty settings for? 3 star setting is suppose to be slightly harder but not to hard. I remember in PES3, PES4 (WE7, WE8), the difference in 2 star and 3 star setting is that in 3 star setting, the players run and it's a bit challenging but not too hard.
Some of you may find PES5 too easy. Hey, not everyone is a world class player like you are. I am not a lousy player but at the same time I am not a world class player like some of you.
***WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING DIFFERENT REFEREES IF THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. Wasting disk space for no use. All the Refs are the same and have the same attributes.***
My recommendation to Konami is either they come out with a patch to fix the cheating AI (COM) and other issues people are having or release Winning Eleven 9 world-wide with the major updates, and bug fixing. And those people who have PES5, should get a FREE copy.
PES5 looks and feels like a great footy game but unless Konami fixes the AI bug, then this game does not live up to it's reputation. At this point I would give PES5 a 2 and 1/2 out of 5.
