Help!

hi guys need your help...I cant seem to beat a friend of mine when i play him at pro. he always plays a 4-4-2 with 2 amf, lmf,rmf...and he always attacks down the flanks where i just cant seem to defend as i cant muscle him off the ball and his midfield/cfs are all hovering in/around the box waiting for a rebound or a pass. and when i do try catch him on the counter i cant get past hes cb...any ideas?

Jus kiddin. i agree with Morado. just 5 - 3 - 2 things up. What team does your friend go and which team do you go ?

Chelsea would be the best option for you i think, especially with Essien, Ballack sitting infront of the back 5 , with Lampard/joe cole feeding Drogba, who is an Animal

Thats how i'd play my cards against him. I'd put Joe Cole in a forward winger type role though. Nothing beats passing the ball about your back 5 to ur RB, then a nice ball up the wing. bit of magic and Cross the ball to Drogba who should do the rest

thanks guys...im playing him tonight so ill let you know how it goes...we play random teams usually just to keep it interesting...but he sticks to fast wingers and physically strong amf...i agree about drogba HE IS AN ANIMAL

Well what happens if he randomly picks a team without fast wingers??


I disgaree about having 5 defenders, that just says to him "come on, come and attack me, i'm waiting to get my arsehole ripped even wider"

I'd go for a 3-4-3 personally

With the positions set to

But obviously it depends on what team you randomly pick

although giving him a stone cold stunner has crossed my mind :flip: i think victory would taste better:duel:...he never picks a team without either fast wingers, strong amf or a top class striker. Iv tried playing 3 cb but he catches me on the counter with my defence being outnumbered by his midfield...this may sound dumb but what exactly is the role of a cmf compared to amf and dmf?

Its a balance of the two.... attacking midfielder attacks, defensive midfielder defends and a centre midfielder is inbetween

I thought you said you randomly picked teams? Or is this just a case of you picking weaker teams than him???

my bad :blush:...I meant we never pick the same team twice but always roughly of the same ability. thanks for explaining the cmf role :dancer:

here's my tip....just play short passes to open players and dont run a lot(ie. dont hold the turbo button wen around opposition players)....and if theres a defender in front of u change directions and wen the defender follows u then change back to original direction.....hopefully tht helps u!
i too was annoyed by one of my friend who always uses cristiano to get inside the box frm the wings..
another tip would be injure the player who is annoying u!!

hi guys...sorry about the late update but i'v been busy...good news and bad news.
good news...I finally won a game!:cheer:
bad news...i still lose more games then I win.:angry:
i played 5-3-2 that mullet suggested which made it NEARLY impossible for my mate to score but it wasent working for me as there wasent enough attacking options up front. I usually got closed down inside the box as there was no-one to pass to.
I then tried morado's suggested formation which was hit and miss. Game usually ended 1-0 or 2-1 mostly him winning. In reply to dale chapman iv never played with 3 defs so i was thinking of playing 3 CB's instead of a LB & RB so they dont bomb forward and have the box well defended?
Are there any tips on tackling his wingers without pulling my defs out of position...also he tends to win most headers from goal kicks because my players seem to just get muscled off the ball...even when recieving passes!any tips on how to stay strong on the ball?
