He's playing a captains role

Does being a captain have any effect on the game whatsoever? (Besides giving Brackley something to spout on about). How do you choose your captains in the Master League? One thread said that your captain should have the highest mentality, but why? Does he raise the level of the entire team?

i have heard that some captains have a better roles playin the captains and that they make the team play better. however, i have heard that it doesn't make n e difference so i dont know

i would have thought that it would not make any difference who your captain is.

yeh, i think it does i had a my player dawson skipper and he had 79 mentallity yet when i changed buxton to skipper who had 88, my teams passes were more sucessfull!

i had leon cort, and i couldnt use him when i made him but as soon as he was captain he was amzing he played like a black maldini

I changed my captain to Cafu and i swear he started to play better

more proof that ya captains an influence, when u select ya players at the formation setting screen, press circle and it will show u the team work amongst the other players, having leon cort in my team improved my goalie and left back

I've never bothered changing my captain, because I didn't think it did anything.
But maybe I will........nah fook it.

I have changed it to Minanda which in part has seen an increase in good solid passing and he tends to perform very well whenever he is on the pitch

I have schmeichel as captain.....and he's ben immense

great thread man. I've always been interested in knowing whether this makes a difference or not!

I'll try that pressing circle thing in Formation screen... i've noticed those teamwork lines connect to each other but i couldn't really figure out what it mean and all

I think I will have to have a look at this too. I don't know who my captain is to be honest. So just to clarify - would you base it on mentality and teamwork alone or passing too?

In my master league team (Barcelona) I have Shearer as captain. I feel that the team play better when he is captain (he is out at the mo with an injury!) and without him as captain (I usually use Gerrard) then it feels as if the team are lacking something, but it might just be my imagination!
