How can I tell if I'm Lagging?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I tried searching and couldn't find anything. My problem is that I have experienced Lag when playing other users online and as I only started playing online yesterday I want to know how to prevent it on my part.

I have an 8meg broadband connection, should this be fast enough for others to play me without experiencing lag on their part?

So long as your connection is ONLY being used for PES6, it should be fine. No MSN, Torrent etc. should be running.

I don't use my pc when i'm playing for that reason, thanks for the responses...I can go back to lurking again

Are you talking about PES6 online for the PC or for the PS2?

Because I've been playing PES6 online on my PS2 while other people in the house are using the PC and the Laptop (which are all connected to the Router) and I haven't experienced any lag (yet).

And I have an 8 Meg connection as well.

I'm using a PS2, sorry I forgot to mention that! Today I had some guy saying he was goin to report me for cheating though hmy: I wasn't aware you could cheat, what does he mean?!?

Somebody randomly said that to me once, didn't have a clue what he was talking about.

Thats alright, I'm doing okay since signing up and I dont want my account closed. Why would he say I was cheating though? How could I cheat? The only thing I can think of is by causing lag on purpose.
