I have just bought pes 2008 for PC and am looking to improve the game with patches. But I have no idea where to even begin. I am not looking to make my own stuff, just to download the available patches.

So, where do I start?

I know there are patches available. What I meant to say was I don't have a clue how I get them on my game. I downloaded a couple of patches to look at the instructions and they talked about afs explorer. So I downloaded that too but I don't know how it works or what it does really. I have never patched before and don't even know the basics. Can anyone help or does anyone know where I can find information on how to patch pes?

I have just tried to add a couple of patches and followed the instructions carefully. But when I go to play the game it is not responding. So I reverted to the original image files and the problem is fixed. But whatever I replace in the C:\Program Files\KONAMI\Pro Evolution Soccer 2008\img it will be overidden by the original image information on the disc and it seems when they do not match it won't work.

How do I get round this and get the patches working in my game. Do I need to be able to play without the disc or change what's on the disc or something?

try downloading the game... i have the pc version on my computer (no disk required when playing) and patched it easy just by following the instructions.. i dont have the original pes2008 for pc maybe that could be the issue

You can try the Championship Patch i compiled...i provided easy installation in the form of a singular file for each of the .img files.
