How many Growth players?

Alreet folks,

Just trying to figure out if the growth players play a good part in the Master League later on. I am just entering my 4th season and now it is in the Division 1. I won the Second Div and Second Div cup :D My growth players did really well apart from my keeper Goya who I just released. I have:

Pilinaik
Dunant
Ibsen

Both Dunant and Pilnaik are really good. Very fast - 90 and very good dibblers. Isben is coming to the end of his training and is just as good except I have made him better than the others at free kicks, playmaking and heading. The current formation I am using is 3-5-2 like below:

--------------Kelsen

Henchoz-------Zago--------Toure

--------------Davids----------
Izmailov-------------------Chernat
------Allevenda------Dunant

------Pilinaik--------Ibsen--------

Do you reckon I would be best playing 3-6-1 with say the best striker upfront alone and the other two supporting just behind offering speed but excellent shooting or as I have it?

Also, back to the main point? How many do you have or how many do you intend to get?

I find only the strikers to be very good at training up. :(

I've played two different master leagues one on 3* and one on 4*

I appreciate much of this is meaningless without their stats

Growth players on 3*

Piliniak - made him very good and was a starter in the team.
Ibsen - he was pretty good and played sometimes and sometimes a starter
Strauss - manged to make him pretty quick and would occassionally play
Lavisse - again I think he was an average player

Growth players on 4*

Strindberg - try to develop him but time expired before he got good.
Kivi - Developed him to a pretty good level and plays in most games for the team

Haven't tried anyone else, I fancied trying to develop a full back like byron. But you reckon that strikers are the best ones to develop, I tend to agree.

You said that Ibsen was nearing the end of his training time, how can you tell that? is there an inidcator somewhere i'm missing?

cheers.

What positions do Strauss, Strindberg, Lavisse play?

I'm playing on 5* like but don't get the chance to play much to create a new league. But I find growth players grab most of my attention. I got Pilinaik first and my squad was'nt that good so could really set him up to score goals and get additional points. He lasted around year before his training stopped so I just think this happens with them all. I still have Ibsen into the start of the new season so I am thinking I must have bought him when the transfer opened just after the start (the one after pre-season). I reckon it will stop me getting anymore points then. He has 90 for most like:
Attack
Balance
Stamina
Speed
Acceleration
Response
Dribbling
Dribble Speed
Shoot Accuracy
Shoot Power
Shot Technique
Technique
Aggression
Free Kick Accuracy
Header
etc

I was in the play-offs and Ibsen got a hat-trick which gave me something like 68 points - I was well chuffed. Put more stars on him - he has 7 up to now.

Alright mate,

Strauss is a right midfielder, I managed to get him good dribbling, pace and acceleration, the usual ones.

Lavisse is a Centre back / Right back

Strindberg is an attacker - I had a theory that the time ran out quicker when you pushed the growth player stats into the high 90's. So with Strinberg I just built every stat up slowly, he had 70+ for everything and then the time ran out. shame! He lasted from being bought in the 1st transfer window to the opening game of the next season. When I had Pilliniak he lasted ages, couple of seasons at least.

As you know each week by default they get 10 points, so my tactic is to always give my growth player the last ten minutes of every match this way the team isn't effect but their points are guaranteed. You're right if they score, the get loads more points, which is why it's more difficult to build up points for players who aren't attackers.

I've also had Turner who is a dmf - got him to be reasonably decent and also Petipa who lasted about 6 weeks! which was silly.

I'm gonna try Dunant, i think.

i don't use growth players because i like having players that i know... it is like playing cm03/04 without the "real player names" option.. it is like the diet coke of PES3... i don't like it.. but in PES2 i had one... i had dunnant... and he was better than Shevchenko... except in the air... he has shitty heading and jumping.. but all this shooting stats were 95... so he was very cool... but yea.. in PES3 i don't use them..

Mass Sarr - you should play them all match mate. I realise what you are saying but they are much more likely to score if they play a full 90 mins are'nt they?

The thing is I'm playing the percentages game, for playing them for ten minutes you get approx. 35 points, if they score and play 90mins then they might get approx. 60 points. So you are only getting 50% more points for 9 times as much time on the pitch. I understand that you can develop them more, but especially in the early days the players are such a liability, it's like playing with ten men! But later on, it's definately worth playing them for longer.

Cheers mate.

i had pillinak on 4* and i just concentrated on his attacking stats, i either changed a stat 2 99 or i left it what i changed was, from balance down to drib acc = all on 99, and all the shooting, and technique and that was it, he was damn good!one thing which i didnt get, i got three growth players at the same time and played them each game no matter what, apart from suspensions, but eliot stopped training then about 7 weeks later it was goya then about 5more weeks it was pillinak, why was this??????

anyone been able to build a good keeper, while having them be a keeper during their development

seems the only way to develop a good player is to play them up top

I got goya quite good and hes still in my ML team. he has 99 keeper skills, defence, response and agility. However the rest of his stats are in the 30's and 40's
