I have read that the issues that prevent blue bottomed games working whilst allowing silver is the voltage to the laser. It would need a tech to sort it out.
so i want to ask something, i got winning eleven 7 int patched on a cd, i get trouble playing it's intro it stopps for secs then complete, and i get the same prob with the original mortal kombat deadly alliance, but all other games seem to work fine should i clean the lens? i hope it's nothing serious

So after 4 months of use it has packed in. I have just been told by Sony that they will replace it for £55 but I dont see the point in throwing more more money after bad. The consoles are not of the best quality and a quick stroll through google will show this.

How the dickens old is this thread! My PS2 is feeling its age. I tried cleaning the laser but the thing wouldnt read. Instead i bash seven shades of shit out of it as PES won't play.

This is my 3rd PS2 and the fucker is broke...yet again, its so bad, ive had nothing but problems with this ps2....ive had 3 new lasers fitted and just things here and there done to it and the fucker still wont work!
I'm currently on my second PS2 which I bought from E-Bay for around £40 last summer.
My brother bought the first PS2 we had so I'd usually sneak in and play on it while he wasn't there and leave it as it was. He eventually got in a mood with it and lobbed it against his bedroom wall, smashing it to pieces.

when my ps2 doesnt work i get frustrated...therefore leading to me punching it which probably ends up causing more damage ...sort of like a vicious cycle!
ive never had any problems with my XBOX apart from it not readin cd-r's, but i prefer PS2.

X box are way more consistant and they seem to last forever.
I had a Ps2 once but after about 6-7 months the thing stopped working, I fixed it but again 2 months later it broke again and was unfixable so i just threw it out.
X boxes on the other hand I have had 3, none of them broke or gave me any trouble, but when I got sick of them I just sold them, then after a couple of months I would get one again and the last one I had lasted 2 years no problems then I just sold it and now have no Console at all just my Pc which is better than the lot.

Im getting my 3rd ps2 fixed on Friday, and i swear if it costs more than £40 im not paying that for it, ive honestly spent about double what the ps2 is actually worth on getting it fixed! if its gonna cost a lot this time im just gona buy a new Slimline i think.

Just a tip to people buying new PS2s. Try to get an original PS2 not a slimline as there are a lot of problems with them.
