How to get a 'lag' free game of PES6 online

Everyday we are getting loads of threads with lag issues online for the PS2. How it works is one half you host, the other your opponent hosts. In order to get a lag free match, you should:

- Have at least a 1mb connection (though some will argue 512kb will do).
- Preferably be in the same country.
- Be the ONLY person in your household using the connection and that PES6 is the only thing running - don't have ANY PC's turned on with stuff like MSN or Torrent programs running.
- Find an opponent who has 2 or 3 little bars next to his name in the match room. If you can't find anyone at all with 3 bars, this means your connection is not up to scratch or you need to turn a PC etc off. The bars do not indicate the connection quality of your opponent, they indicate the connection between the both of you (e.g. one person could see 3 bars for someone, whereas you may only see 1).
- Try to play against someone you know who you know has a decent connection and has no other systems running. I suggest asking people for games on the forum and meeting in a quieter lobby.

If you follow those steps you should be able to have a lag free game of Pro Evo 6 online.

For the PC, just make sure that you don't have MSN or any other program which will use the connection. Only have PES6 running.

Lag is the slowdown in gameplay. It appears as stutters and elongated player moves. Basically it is bad, and if it is really bad lag, it can ruin a game.

or if konami cared a little bit more about this games as much as their other games, we wouldn t have this problem.

I live in the US and I have an internet that is a lot faster than Cable/DSL but due to the lack of bandwith space, I can not even connect. "I guess I will be taking way too much bandwith from their server".

This is disappointing, because my brother uses our Internet which is called Verizon Fios (t2-t3 speed) for every single one of his PS3 games. I hope that Winning eleven 11/PES7 will support other internet connections also.
And if they would have different lobbies for different connections, then no one would have this problem. Or simply have a standard that allows only people with at least decent connections to play online.

These stupid things only happen with Winning Eleven. My brother plays so many other games and never has a Lagging problem.

and also, I m forced to have 2 internets at home simply because I can t use my Verizon Fios, so I kept my Cable connection also.

By the way, all the tips above are correct and I agree with them all. NO WAY IN HELL EVER PLAY WITH A PERSON WITH 1 connection bar.

My provider is Sprint(Embarq) and have a 3MB DSL connection but almost impossible to find somebody with two or more bars(I.); I mean, in almost every single match I get LAG. I am in Ohio, USA. Any suggestion ?. Could this be because of my provider's server ?

i have followed all the above recomendations and still have some lag i'm on sky broadband and i only ever get 1 bar with everyone and my connection is 3 meg and all my other applications on my pc are turned off so god knows what to do next?

I've been playing PES online on my Xbox 360 lately with only 1-2 slow(lagging) games. I just want to say that it is superb game and why anyone would want to change it I don't know.

dude if u say that u have a 3mbps connection and still only see one bar with no application running it means that u are not getting the bandwidth from ur ISP that ur paying so call them and ask them to make a check ... or if u want to check the bandwidth u are using on ur pc by urself - there are several bandwidth manager on the internet.

buy a nvidia 8800gts oc and u will be on ur way
