How to get an update without using the xbox Live kit???

Is it possible to get an update to your xbox without using the xbox live kit??? On the ps2 you can use an x-port....can you buy something simular to the xbox???

There is a max drive for the xbox. This will let you send updated option files to your xbox.
I think the way to send to send patches to the xbox using ftp.

thanks...but do you know where to buy such a maxdrive...i mean on the internet...i'm from Denmark so the chance of you knowing a local store i could use seems rather nonsense!!

And what is ftp?? Would this mean that I would be able to download an option file on my computer and then transfer it to my xbox using the maxdrive???

I'm not sure where you would get one from.

FTP is File Transfer Protocol, and you connect your Xbox to the PC and transfer files down through the cable. If you did make this network, then you wouldn't need a Max-Drive, because you can simply transfer the option file that way.

If you have broadband you probably have got one.

No. You can only get the official patch that way and it doesn't update anything on the option file.
