How to get the power to score goals from inside own half?

I have seen videos of people on PES '09 scoring from inside their own half. I notice that the keepers were way off their line so it is possible.
When I tried it I powered up the long pass button to the max and let rip. Only for it to be short on power and end up with the keeper.
Is there something im doing wrong? I had seedorf taking the 'shot' so I would expect the power to be there.
HELP PLEASE????

not sure how its done but you would need to be damn lucky to get the ball that far AND accurate. I used to do it from the centre circle in PES5 with a chip manual pass... it would go dead straight almost every time... although the keepers would be back on their line so it hardly ever went in.

I'm only guessing but perhaps chipping, with full power? Try it on 1 star - in traing etc. Then bring it to your 6 star game.
