I come from FIFA so it cold just be that i have to adapt my style of play but i really struggle to make wingers attack in a 442, but it doesn't really get better with other lineups. Am I doing something wrong or is it normal?

Go into preset tactics in the game plan. Check your team instructions, for when in possession. Look at the attacking styles(I think). There are 2 options: counter attack and possession. Choose counter attack to make your players run forward and attack more. Yours may already be set to possession which could be your problem. There are also other options to choose whether you want to attack out wide or through the centre.
