How to mass transfer files...

Hello,

I am a recent converted PES player, used to play Fifa 11, hated it and traded it in for PES. What a great game! Seen a few option files that add real kits, appearances etc. Though it comes out at 500 files, to copy them over one by one on the PS3 saved data utility takes ages. Is there any software/hints to copy mass files over quickly?

Thanks

Just have to copy them all one by one, I'm afraid. It doesn't take too long once you pick up a rhythm :)

It took me around 20 minutes to copy everything when I was installing an option file for a friend's PS3, but it's a well spent 20 minutes imo.

Yeah, and it's not like you have to do it a lot. Just once every year. So it's worth it in the end.

Kids these days...well I remember back when, I had to walk 5 miles up hill in the snow each way just to pick up a single data file, bring it home, copy it and walk back the next day to get another file. Now that took some time!

I'm just happy nowadays folks put the effort into making these great kits and option files and taking 20-30 mins to boringly copy them over is a small price to pay.

It is a pain in the ar*se but like the other guys said, well worth it. Be careful not to accidentally miss any like my mate did, fluffed the whole thing up!

I remember when an option file used to be one file on a memory card. Game actually had an offer so that you colud by a memory card with an option file, back in ps1 days.... or early ps2 days.... anyway, it was a while ago.

20mins of your time is nothing compared to what the OF makers go through to make these.

Yeah, the peopel make them (great people) must spend weeks/months of hard work, so to spend 20 mins compying is well woth it. However, it would be nice to be able to copy them in one go and that wouldnt be a big deal for sony to sort on the PS3 system update

Oh ya, I remember buying a memory card with an edited option file off of eBay. It was the cost of the memory card, plus a couple quid for the kids and squads sorted out... the days of 'Griggs' patrolling the wings for Utd

If you've found the thread and the link to the option file you want to use, then the instructions should be there and explicitly say what to do. For instance on the PS3 it is:
To install:
1. Add the folder "PS3" downloaded to a USB stick.
2. Plug USB stick into PS3
3. Go to Game-Saved Data Utility
4. Find your USB stick
5. All the kits etc should show as single files, along with an Edit Data file
6. Start at the first kit, press Triangle while you are on it, a Copy option will appear
7. Copy onto your PS3
8. Repeat for all the other files (this may take a while but it is worth it)
9. You are ready to play

The key bits are to ensure the files are for your region, the files are in a 'SAVEDATA' folder on the USB stick and when you disconnect the USB stick from your computer, be sure to do it properly by choosing the 'Safely remove...' option from your computer's system tray.
