how to set up the controller to avoid doing the analog stick tricks?

I set the buttons for the pad for left, right, up and down, and haven't set up the ones for the analog stick, but when I am playing with the pad, sometimes, when i don't want it, the players do the tricks that could only be done with analog stick, even if i haven't set up it. I use a PS2 controller with the PC-USB adaptor for PS2 controller

Any ideas or solutions to avoid this?thanks

yeah I had this problem but managed to sort it. Go into the controller set up and select the right stick. At the moment, each direction on the D Pad will also be a direction on the R Stick. Just change the R Stick commands so they have nothing allocated to them. Then I`d also reset the D Pad directions to just themselves. Up = Up etc and not button 13 or whatever it says.

That does the trick.

I haven't been able to figure out how to map the tricks at all. Is there something special about mapping it? I'm using the Dual Action Logitech pad (the one that's basically a PS2 controller). I can't figure out how to do dribble moves at all.

The left analog stick on my Dual Action pad doesn't recognise a full push of the stick sometimes while playing PES3. Have you had that problem m8?

Exchanged the pad for a new one but still get the same problem. I use the PS2 pad convertor now.

supersossy, i have that problem too... it's a hardware issue with the dual action gamepads... great gamepads, but faulty construction of the hardware. if you search around the web, youll see everyone has issues with it. i think there is a revision model that came out recently, and fixes the problem. i emailed tech support, and i have to call them t o get it replaced.. free of charge of course. logitech bungled big time ... great pad overall... but someone screwed up.

Those with Logitech DA pads would do well to send it back and get a refund - at least 2 of the builds of the pad are recognized as having these problems and there's no way to know your replacement (from store or Logitech direct) won't do the same things in anything from a day to three months. A little browsing on the web will find much info on the known issues with these pads. Having gone through it all, I'd highly recommend to any PC user who wants the best gamepad setup for a reasonable price to invest in a PSX-USB converter ($7-20 depending on model, cheap ones are fine) and a Sony Dual shock 2 pad - the best there is and you'll have total compatibility.

i use the ps2-usb converter and use the ps2 controller
playing with the analog sticks is the way to go, WAY more control than with the d-pad
