How to Stop Right Backs defenders from going Forward?

Hello, any know how to stop right/left back defender from going forward, because the enemy winger usually gets in though there,


Iv tried , with the same player , to set him back, but nothing, then iv also set by editing the role of his his position manually to Center back, but that just puts 2 CB together, and iv used other players too, with less attack, but with no luck. iv also tried man matking but nothing

any ideas!

So you said you tried other players who are labeled Defensive minded?

How far back in the formation menu did you set the SBs? Placement on the field makes a big difference.

do you have your offense style and player support range set up high? if so all your players will come in support when you are attacking, the only way to stop it is set your support and offense style low, but that means your offense will pretty much have to be direct where you kick long boom boom balls. In todays football game every team uses their left and right backs to attack, makes it more dynamic...u may want to switch and control your left and right backs like I do and have your CB'S playing deep in the backfield in stead of high up. i usually play with 4 defenders in a straight line just above the big box.

Yea other players that have a defence minded (that is: little a ttack and a lot of defence), do attack less, but they still stroll up the field.

Also my defensive style is though the middle

I would be dissapointed not to see Luiz up there in O-support (I play him RB instead of CB). Love when I send it back a bit and a defender booms one from 20 yds.

if u have to use 4 defenders becoz the other player got 3 offensive players , u can put 3 CB and 1 SB (change the SB to CB wich the best offensive player of the other player)
example with players:
if the other player plays with barca with messi in the right, villa in the center, and pedro in the left, we know that messi is the best of the 3 so we got that in the most cases he is going to play with the messi band...imagine that we are barca too, so we can have dani alves in the right like SB with pedro, pique and milito in the centre, and puyol in the left like CB so u can have a fast and strong player in the band

Nice one Charlie, but you can easily manage to keep the likes of Ronaldo in check with Maxwell, or even better with Abidal. Just pull the back down on line with the CB's and don't play risky near the back line. Also put Puyol or similar beast in the CB spot nearest to the player you want to nullify, as he is doing great cover work.
