How to win header

When you want to win a header, with an opponent in front of you, it seems impossible to move around him. Often, the player gets 'stuck' behind his opponent, and then loses the header. I tried to push (r2) and all, but that usually results in a free kick.. Is there a way to to this, and win the header ? Or should one just prevent this, by being at the right place at the right time (in front, instead of behind the opponent ?)

try as soon as the ball gets hit up feild or down 4 that matter 2 move ur player round in front ov the opposition

much practise needed i fink but i can do it rather easily now im used 2 it
