How too beat the AI 3 stars and above?

Is there any strategy that works too beat the AI from 3 stars and higher. Ever pass I make, every through ball I give, gets intercepted. Drives me crazy.
They can take off your ball so easy, but when you try to do the same thing with them it seems impossible, or they just turn around and regain the ball before you can even touch another button. Please help me out with this one. I can keep the score level, although defense is really hard as well but the attacking is insanely difficult at this level!!

Any tips.

O and please, no answers like; you need more practice needed.
I can score 2 goals or more in most game I played on the 2 star level but can't seem to get a grip in higher levels so it most be the strategy which is wrong.

This is my first post, I'm just running around the forum to look for some tips and hints to better my game. :)

Anyway, beating AI at 3 stars and above is really not that hard since AI is artificial after all. Thus the higher the star rating, the more complex the set of responses available at the AI's disposal but the key is that the AI is preset. So you just have to learn and understand the patterns of the AI. In WE, raising one star level is actually quite a jump in AI, since at 1 star players just stand there and do nothing except watch you score and at 2 they 'attempt' to pressure your attacker (although seriously, 2 star computer AI is like bribing your opponents team to put on a show so you could win :p )

The most important thing to remember when you play or practice is precision. By this, I mean asking yourself "How likely is that action going to be successful?" When you pass, you want to make sure the player is in a good position to receive the ball and that the ball will connect with the player, there is no point in passing if there are a swarm of defenders marking him. Use triangle to through pass to open space or L1 + Triangle for a high through pass so your player can run for it, or use X when your player is certain to connect with the ball. Also, when passing, one mistake many new players make is to not run into the ball but just stand there and wait for the ball to come rolling to their feets (Not saying that you are a new player, just that many new players make this mistake). After you pass, press the direction towards the ball so that the receiving player will run into the ball, thus decreasing the likelihood of an interception by lessening the time window for which a defender can make the interception.

That was just a short lesson on passing and receiving, I guess. Basically it is important to make sure that every move you make ensures that the ball gets to where you want it to be. This cannot always be the case but keeping this in mind will help you think twice before you blast the ball off to your teammate. The smaller the distance, the more likely the ball will get to where you want it to go. So try to keep your passes a fair distance, i.e. don't blast a pass from your goal to the other end of the field and expect your forwards to play fetch without the other team's defenders pestering you :p

Personally, I rarely use crosses except to 'square' or 'centre' it and to change wings since the high through pass is more effective and short passes are key to building strategy and momentum for the attack no?

Also, as Original? mentioned, don't forget to use your radar. Another key to building strategy and looking for open spaces to play your pass to as well as build up an unstoppable attack!

Hope that helps! :)

I beg your pardon?
team/fun has given the best advice so far.

My hint is to play like a real team, don't expect to bang the ball up front and score everytime. I play football first and foremost, passing moving, 1-2's and I basically just keep the ball, if you are advancing and there is no-one forward to pass to, just knock it back to your defenders or even keeper just to keep the ball and try to attack again.
If you make defensive errors, the computer will likely punish you, just create as many chances as possible.
It's basic advice I know, but it's how I win.

i use all the buttons in my games but the one-two is a good tactic to use for attack. to defend don't go to the attacker wait for him (like in real life) and don't let him to make anything like passing, crossing or shooting. i think this could help you guys.

keep on pes people

do not too depending on something auto, in 4 stars level and above it's almost useless if you're passing with :triangle: , :L1: + :triangle: will do better...always try to pick the ball passed to your player cause it can prevent the com player got the ball first's....to rob the ball?? use :R1: + :x: to rob automatically with 1 person or :R1: + :x: + :square: with more than one person...this will do automatically but won't work much in 5 stars level....

scoring goals should be simple after a while using the <---------------------------------huuuuuuuge-----------------------> advice. try this when defending. dont dive in and let an attacker beat you easily. stand off him just a little bit between him and the goal and wait for a good opportunity to steal the ball using whatever tackle. just like real
