The shooting system sucks!

I missed so many chances. I cannot describe my anger at this game. I stand there in front of an OPEN GOAL and the guy just shoots the ball over like a lob! He can't even put power into his shot!

What is going on? I can't even shoot from a distance!

Sounds more like he needs to practice. Its not perfect but i do alot of long rangers still and this time i also score long rangers on the ground from 30 m out. Kaka scored one from 35 meters it was shocking to see...i nearly wet my pants...

Best system the game has had, it does not "suck" because your not used to it. Multiple factors are taken into consideration, angle of approach, momentum, backlift, shot technique etc. If you want a harder shot make sure the ball is at least half a yard in front of your body, you can also achieve a harder shot by pushing forward on the analog. If you want to place a shot approach the ball at a slight angle(the amount of power needed varies depending on the situation). You can also press RT after the shot gauge is displayed for a placed shot.

OP: Ah no see, what you are doing there is effectively expressing your exasperation with shooting. It's not remotely effectively describing why it is the system sucks ;-)

Seriously though, try some free practice and see if that helps or do a search here from some thread with tips

The title of this thread certainly made me smile as I think our newbie friend here slightly got his words mixed up

I understand why he is frustrated but think he is probably still playing the game as he would PES2010 or PES2009. PES2011 is much more 'sensitive' in terms of game physics.

I just moved from Pes 2010
This is a living hell
in training i can shoot well
but whenever i am playing a match i shoot 50 meters in the air
what the hell.

and also, I always score first, and on the 88th minute the opponent scores?
I can never win
I believe my copy is cursed....

Still playing on amateur level as an amateur. Stop sprinting all the time and stop shooting from wrong angles and when you are pressured by 4 defenders.

I know why i balloon shots over goal and when i dont. If you are pressured from behind (may be you like it huhn!?:w00t:crymore move right analogue stick to left or right to wrestle the defender off then change direction and once you are free from pressure shoot but dont fill the bar up 100%

Play nicely with the newbies ... teasing is fine but don't overstep the mark.

I only ever shoot over if i press too soon or too many resulting in too much force. The only other time is if i am being pressured from behind by a defender.

Its all down to technique, timing and patience... get in behind the defence and the only thing to stop you scoring is yourself.

When yo shoot press left analogue stick og directional button backwards from the shooting direction. This keeps the ball down.

Also i have noticed that if i cancel my shot the defense seems not to charge forward as you shoot again also the shot is more likely to be better. May be its just me. If you do it in front of keeper you are 99% sure of scoring the goal.

Have you updated your game with the patches from konami Im sure one of the patches improved the shooting on the game. I dont know wether it was a coincidence but i felt exactly like that and was lucky to be scoring 1 goal in a game buf after i downloaded the patches i didnt feel i ballooned as many or maybe i just improved!

Yes that sounds like the right versions maybe it is just a coincidence then, but im sure one of the updates improved the shooting at least slightly anyway!
