Like everyone says, use :R1: wisely. It's not for dribbling, use :R2: or no speed bursts for dribbling. Once you dribble past an opponent, and you found lots of space ahead, then use R1 to get away from the player behind you. R1 also destroys your stamina on most players so take that into consideration as well. Having a player with decent Balance or Anti-Dribble, it's very difficult for opponent to take ball off you cleanly as long as you don't hold R1 . Someone like Zidane, slow speed but amazing balance, dribbling, and anti-dribbling, I don't even need to use R2, they can't take it from him =P

Don't be afraid to send in long balls from your own half. If you're around the 1/2 line, take a look at your forwards on radar. If they're running forward, hold :L1: + :triangle: but don't let go for a long and high thru pass. Great for players with decent balance (hard for defender to hold back) and good speed.

When you're close to their goal, you should use :triangle: most of the times to pass to your forwards, even if they are marked. I tend to spray thru passes (short or high) into the goal area. Eventually a striker will get onto it =P

The shooting meter is used to decide height, not power so remember that well. I've scored some great goals from far out with Nedved and Del Piero. Also you can choose the direction you want to shoot to. (opponents' goal on right side, hold up+right to shoot to top post and down+right for bottom post). And when 1v1 with keeper, you can use :L1: + :square: like Brunster said but pressing :R2: right after letting go of :square: is much easier and more effective to chip the keeper and works almost all the time.

Hopefully all our tips will help you put some balls in their net :)
