hey ‹♠♥♣ ›plz what is the advanteges and disadvantages of putting raul to right and ronaldo to left can you explane ?

Raul is left-footed, so by starting on the right he can receive the ball to feet with his back to gaol, shielding it from defenders, then turn inside towards the goal to shoot on his left-foot. If he plays a 1-2 with a team-mate on his right, the ball is returned to his stronger, and more accurate, left-foot rather than him needing the ball to go across his body before he can shoot.

The disadvantage is if he receives the ball down the outside, facing the opposition, it makes it more difficult for him to cross using his right foot. A smart opponent might use his defenders to keep Raul on his weaker foot.

and what you think puttin r.carlos to cf in rauls place and raul to cambiassos place ? do you use extra arrows for players and tactics

I don't think so - players' performance drops if they're placed out of position. Raul is defintely CF and OMF, R.Carlos is definitely a LB or LMF.

One alternative might be to put him in RMF and try to get him to drive infield for shots, rather than down the line for crosses. Raul can play well as an OMF, but that's Zidane's only position.

Whenever he can't play, I think Figo is better there, and Beckham can moved forward to take his place at RMF. That's why I tend to place Raul as the deep-lying CF, behind Ronaldo playing as the main striker.

One annoying thing about PES3's version of Real Madrid is that they have Raul Bravo down as a SB only, but he's been playing CBT all season. Admittedly he's played fairly badly, like he should only be a used as a full-back, but all the same!

Well said Cellini :p

Anyway I would like to play Henry, Zidane and Pires switching positions on the field during the match, how is that done?

I've heard about a tactiacl option called something like "wing overlap" but where do I find it?

You could use the set in their Individual attack arrows to encourage this.

Say Henry at CF has one going across the defensive line (so he doesn't go off-side too often), and one pointing back and outside, towards the wing where Pires would usually play as a SMF.
Give Pires an Individual attack arrow pointing forwards and in-field, so that it moves in the opposite direction to Herny's, and another inside towards Zidane's position as OMF. Then do the same for Zidane's attack arrows - one outside towards Pires, and the other forward-diagonal, pointing towards Henry.

Use Alternative in-game formations. Set up a secondary Formation (e.g. Formation A), with Henry, Zidane and Pires in their alternative positions. It's secondary because once you've set it all up and exit out, your team reverts to their main formation. Assign it a button in Manual strategies. These strategies are triggered by holding down :L2: and whichever button you assign in the Manual Strategy list.

(I usually find :triangle: best because I'm unlikely to trigger it by accident.)

Then you can change between your main formation and a secondary alternative during the game by switching that manual strategy on and off.

Personally I prefer using the Attack arrows to manage the players movement, and trust their judgement on which of their attack arrows they should follow, based on the game developing around them.

(Nedved plays very well as a SMF with at least one attack arrow inside-forward - he knows when to cut inside and when to stay wide.)

There's a 'CB Overlap'. Never really understood it - there are tiny explainations on screen in the game, but not much use. I hope maybe someone else does.

There is 'Opposite-side attack', which will keep a player wide on the opposite side to which your playing. Good to spread the opposition defence, and for switching the play quickly. I like to have that assigned to :circle: and Counter-Attack assigned to :x: .

I also use :square: for Offside-trap, and :triangle: for Centre-attack, neither of which I use very often. So I could set up a Formation A to trigger with :triangle: and a Formtion B to trigger with :square:, but it's all very fiddly and doesn't translate easily between teams due to the positional abilities of the various players being different.
