I present you... the free kick bug.

If you want to score any long distance free kick (and I mean any, starting for like 30 meters), simply use the 2 players method.
Select one to pass the ball and another with 90+shot-power (like Sheva) to kick it. Fill the bar to like 3/4 and celebrate... the keeper is way ahead of the place he should be!! There's no chance of defending.

Already scored from 30...33...37 and 43 meters. Just pressed up during fill of the energy bar.
This can be quite cool against the computer, but kinda lame against humanoids...

If you do the two-man free kick quite near the touchline, the main kicker can actually be caught offside!

And on what difficulty did u score those free kicks ?
I tried and there was no result (6*)

Its not that bad a thing i remember on pes3 that if you took freekick on the edge of the box and put literally no power in the shot it would always go through the wall and score.

It's for WE9 Ps2 and PSP - and PES5.
I've scored them all in 6 stars, except for the 44meters one I scored in 5 stars in the PSP.

I scored a couple o these in practice with Adriano but only from 38 m- 40 m distance , no less.
When closer, it seems to be more difficult.
So far, I only once scored with Carlos such a free kick

tried what you said and i scored from about 40 meters away with Rafael Marquez who has alot of power but no accuracy....

Tried that technique and hit the bar with Lampard, with the keeper running out like a grade A lunatic

cant succeed at this w/ Roberto Carlos ever- his trajectory is too straight.

but i can do it w/ Lucio pretty well. From 46 yds i can hit it just below the bar most of the time. if the keeper does his charge out thing it's a goal.

question for those w/ xbox knowledge:
when i do the layoff, i press L+A together to pass but if I don't tap the white button (for PS2 users that is same button that calls over the second player for a layoff...L2 i think?). Anyway if i don't tap it quickly before shooting, then the power meter has this hicup in it's rise making it impossible to time.

basically it starts rising and about 25% of the way through it re-starts... unless i have tapped white just prior to starting my shot.

what is happening w/ the white button which fixes this for me? anyone?
