England League Specifically.

Here's my thoughts.

1. They will almost certainly be loosing the La Liga license despite some faint hopefulls..... it wont be there (official teams that is). Basically they put La Liga in there so you can be Barca and R Madrid but cos their in the top four of their league then they can be entered via CL.

2.Without the Liga official team license there will a massive amount of money freed up

3.This is where they use that money to buy the rights for the CL with ALL the teams in it.

4. Even if they have to buy the English top 4 teams 1 by 1 they'll do it as they have tonnes of cash to chuck in.

5. If they get the top 4 then they'll drop the other 2 'MID TABLERS' to save some more money or they may just keep them.

6.In previous games they've been able to get two of the top 4 so if they could previosly afford those two then with the La Liga license money they can splash out individually on the other 2 of the big 4.

Also the CL will be a part of the next Pes. The only challenges they face is teams like Boca Juniors and a couple of others cant obviously be entered for it but they could simply make it so either those teams from outside Europe cant be entered for the ML or they simply save some dough and dont buy them in the first place.

The only problem that occurs is what do you do becuase you'll have tonnes of teams from places like ireland and croatia that enter the tournament from the 3rd round. It gets confusing when you think about it too much as alot of things start contradicting others and wires end up getting tangled but they could in the ML start the tournament from the group stages and not have the 3rd round atall so you dont even have to think about those little teams, but i dont know whether you can do that with the license i.e. cutting teams out of it.

Fifa has the CL in their league system and they bring out a seperate game months and months later may i add.

Anyhow Pes 2009 WILL incorperate the CL into the ML mark my words.

Also those who think they can release a CL game on its own are wrong. You see there is a problem with Konami and that is that they barely have the numbers to make a new game so do you really think they have the time and money to be making a CL game whilst trying to develop 2010?

Maybe Fifa can do that but they have 100+ people working day and night so they can chuck it out.

Also some say they CL game wouldnt be released on the 360? yh rite! the 360 makes up the most of the market by a stone country mile and is where pes makes most of its money from and fifa dont have to 'exclusively' release it on the PS3 so why should Konami?

Why does everybody think Konami is broke? They are just trying to line things up for 2010 when they can get the Epl and the rest of the FIFA license from EA. This game makes Konami alot of money if it did not they would quit making them every year.

When EA's contract expires in 2010 EA wil just buy it again and that is 100% going to happen. maybe konami will have money but not enough so were jus gonna have to get used to never getting them. If you can edit them thn who cares.

Would you buy a CL pro evo if they released it??

+ i doubt Konami has even bought the lisence for anymore than a year so lets say that is true, what would be the point of releasing a CL game if you couldnt garentee there being 1 for next year. You wouldnt see that kind of thing happen in a footy game, its one of those things where you either have it for ages or you dont bother atall (if it was a seperate game).

I'm not saying their broke, just they dont have enough to buy an expensive league license. But would you care if they could get us the top 4/3 teams of most of the leagues in europe? i certainly wldnt give two shits if i couldnt be espangol playing wigan. i mean lets play hard ball, probably around 80% or more gamers choose a top 4 side when playing so KONAMI could save a hell of alot of money by not paying for the entire league when they could get the teams most people want and save a little on the side.

In buissness terms it is completely sound, saving money but yet getting all the teams gamers want at the price of loosing 14 La Liga teams nobody ever plays with. There is some logic in that. i think it would be a great plan. i'd rather have england top four among others instead of a whole La Liga.

Also, you may of misunderstood but my point is that there will be a La Liga it just wont be licensed with official teams thats all. ive come to terms with that.

In last years PES Ronaldo was on the front cover but was wearing a Portugal shirt. this was because Man Utd wasn't licensed. Is this a sign that becuase Messi is wearing a Argentina shirt Barca arnt licensed. there may be someting there.

Couldn't agree more.. Konami haves the option of including the Champions League in PES09 -something- that would make PES09 a unique Football game, certainly the 1st Football Game to feature European Leagues coupled with the UEFA Champions League.

On the other hand, for whatever the reason -Konami- might end up releasing a separate game based on The "UEFA Champions League". Now this could turn out to be profitable -but- it could also turn out to be a huge FAILURE -because- today anyone can easily download a "Champions League Patch" and an "EPL Patch".

And, downloading a Patch for The "Champions League" and The "EPL" -would- make a "UEFA Champions League" game useless. Konami needs to consider this.

I think it would be better and safer for Konami to simply include the CL in PES09. After the mediocrity of PES08 it is only fair.

I dont agree with some people here... yes konami has the money but they will always lose out because take a look at FIFA the clue is in the name F I F A - their overall name is the world body for football that is a major benifit when getting the liscense.

konami will always be reduced to buying some leagues and some compititions every year. and that dont bother me really some realism is good but over all gameplay is what counts..

According to some site. Konami has solds 1,5 million copy's of pes2008 in France allone. So they have allot of money yes. But does this mean Seabass is getting all? No!

Also, Fans Sometimes want ridiculous things. There are so many forums talking about the license thing, that I am like if you want license then buy FIFA. Since when was pes all about license? Only the last couple of years they are trying to get license because fans bitch about it. So We are putting allot of stress on the team.

We as PES fan want good gameplay. If everything like passing movement and animation are sweet then we should ask for more.

If you look at 2008 many different opinions about that one. So this means something has to change about the gameplay not the license. But it seems many people don't understand this. If the beginning is not good you can't expect for more.

If Konami has listened. Then the major thing we are going to see in pes2009 is improved gameplay. It has to be, since many people complained about pes2008. If pes2009 gameplay is awesome we might expect more in 2010.

And o yeah one thing about the license. In 2007 A Dutch soccer magazine called VI told us that KONAMI pay's double amount of money for license than EA. So something is pretty messed up here.

umm some good points i guess..the one you made about diff opinions and wanting more i think thats a case for all game each year the companies should strive to make improvments or else people will get bored and move on...cus dont forget that this is a business, by us buying the video games were putting food on their tables so they need us...not sure bout the fact that knomi pay double it could be possible but ea sports is massive!

Yes you are definitely right, this is business. But to be honest. if the game play suck i don't care much about the license.

it's really weird how everything has gone for PES. If you look how many people complain each year. I think Seabass is confused himself.

That's the good thing about the FIFA series. You start with crap and each year you add new stuff. This way you get improvements.

I do believe Konami has to pay more. Could be one of the real reasons and not the reason Seabass stated: " we are bad at getting license"
