I'm done with this stupid game

I never thought I will leave PES, but it was really stupid and annoying.

I was in ML Champions League semifinal.
The first game was away. Scripted.
I lost 3-1. But it was really bad, the first 2 goals came in the kick off.
They kicked it, the player shoot from there and goal :shocking:
Then I kicked it off because of the goal I pass the ball to a second player who cannot control the ball and it rebound to a player in the other team, who shoots from there and goal. :realmad: 2-0 down like in 5 minutes.

Then I score the 1 later in the first half and the 3rd goal of them was a penalty kick that I wasn't controlling the player who made the slide.
But it was really the worst game that I have played because all my players were slow, and couldn't make a pass right.

Then second match.
I need to win 2-0 and I can qualify because of my away goal.
So I started good, playing with 2 forwards and having too much in the middle to not let them pass.
I score the 1-0 in the first half.
Then I put another forward in the second half to score the second goal and I was doing good... And... CPU take out the field that forward that I just sub in, and another one, leaving just 1 and all the team pulled back... because I was winning 1-0

I tried to put my best players of those already in (because I had no mor subs at this time) up front because I still needed one goal... but couldn't make it.

People at Konami didn't know that this kind of series are 2 games? and not because I was winning one game I won the series.
STUPID!!!

Not counting the fact the players really few times do what I want them to do. :realmad:

So I'm done.
See you later with PES 2012 hoping that it will be better.

umm okay, 1st of what do you want for the computer not to score? if you want to win that badly put it on amatuer and call it a day...Yes sometimes the cpu takes ur players and make them make dumb tackles but it doesnt make me mad to quit pes all in one. i think ur more disappointed because you lost. just try to get a revenge next season on ur ml and at least u made it to the semi-finals. I will laugh at u if u do u a team like Barca and you are losing. lol

Well, you have your points which I completely understand but in lack of a true alternative there is no way for me quitting PES... though it's nearly an offence to sharp peoples mind and (theoretical) capabilites. Ask KONAMI, maybe they can give us the code of PES 5 and from there you can make it better! :D *joke* But cmon, before I play FIFA which I just played today in its '11 installment the first time I will always stick to PES. Not because I'm stupid or clever but because there is no alternative. And FIFA just won't match...

Use this patch to get rid of most of the scripting:
http://yair12pespatch.blogspot.com/

And remove predetermined match plan in management edit.
An ideal match plan when you need a win is to assign essential strategies to the buttons like the old PES versions.

1. Quick Counter
2. Swap Wings (sends wide players into the box for crosses)
3. Possession (def)
4. All out attack (or an a modified version of your favorite formation where you are more offensive)

Change attacking levels and strategies during each half, tapping 4 every once in a while can catch the AI off guard and create space for strikers. I would also recommend 14+ attacking style.

I usually run Possession (def) and Swap Wings all the game through, but vary attacking level every "10-15" virtual minutes. I use Quick Counter in roughly 5-10 minute bursts and All out Attack the last 15-20 minutes if I need to. I also use the all out attack button if I manage to create a "power play" situation, where I pass the ball back and forth outside their box, before I cross it towards a player that attacks ball from deep.

PS. A striker with 95+ Aggression will be quicker into the box to receive a cross.

I use this tactic with many different formations, 4-3-3, 5-3-2 and 4-4-2. I can't remember the last time I went off the pitch goalless, but I have lost a few games. Most importantly, choose a formation that fit your squad, to make the most out of your players.

On corners and set-pieces, change attack-defense levels to make your team move around and escape markers.

The biggest problem is not losing to scripting.. sort of.. it's more the feeling that u know that everytime a big match is coming up, you know the ai is gonna cheat itself to victory.. unless it decides to be good to u and let u win, you cant stop a goal no matter how super skilled u are when the ai wants to score.
Losing because someone is using hacks and cheats against you to make more realistic win loss ratio is enjoyable and fun yesh? ..rather than it happens because the opposing team usually outplays you... yup yup indeed!

Everyone is always whining about scripted AI. Yes, PES is scripted. And yes, it's way more scripted than FIFA. But imagine if it wouldn't be scripted!

If it wouldn't be so scripted, the game would be boring. It would all be about attacking and scoring. With the scripts, you know you have to pay attention defending and IF you defend well enough, you might stop the AI from scoring. That gives me a rush! It's all part of the excitement.

When I used to play FIFA, my matches were like that. It wasn't fun anymore because every time I started a new match, I KNEW I was going to win. And especially with the latest installment of PES, I finally have a good offline competitor!

There's just one thing I dislike, and that's the short free kicks. They always seem to go in at the right time. BUT as I stated before, it's exciting nevertheless. I once trailed 3-0 because of those free kicks. 3 free kicks in 35 minutes time. A one-legged semi final. I was new to top player, but I managed to pull all three back and score the winning goal in ET. GAH! thank god for scripting.

You don't know what you're talking about. All we are asking for is less obvious scripting, and more challenging AI. Both of which is available today if you tweak the game.

How would you create a more challenging game with less obvious scripting? I think it can be done on the next-gen consoles but not on the current-gen. With all the graphical power, I don't think there's enough computing space left for an extremely good (cause that's what we're talking about) AI that (almost) always plays well enough to be challenging, but fails at random moments.

You'll need an AI that isn't perfect, but the fact is, AI is still always 99% perfectly scripted, whether you win or lose. But imagine this, the more scripts put in, the more space for mistakes and wrong decisions. So you need more computing power, for more scripts. I think we're on the edge of computing power with the latest technology and consoles, so we'll have to wait for that till 2014 or something?
Until that day, scripted AI failing is all we have.

Set all players response to 75, and use this (http://yair12pespatch.blogspot.com/) AI tweak. There are still a little scripts kicking in, but not very annoying ones. And I assure you it will be challenging.

On a note, AI is in fact a series of probabilities and "random" choices based on those probabilities. Scripting is a completed sequence that you can not interrupt.
