I'm having a goal draught. HELP!

On pro evo 4 i used to be great at finshing, every goood chance i had usaly went into the back on the net.
But on pro 5 its a totaly driffrent story, every shot i take i see go over the bar, wide, a defender gets in the way and so on.
I just can't seem to score unless it froma set piece.
Help me! share some tips by the way its for ps2

what do you think is the easit way to score. staright down centre, down wings, long ball. Help me please ,lol

I also seem to strugle with the final ball i get to where i want to be but then trying to pass it a defender always seems to get in the way.
Can any one help me with that also.,

ok, i had this problem too, a) what team r u playing with?

You need to be pacient that is the key word 4 pes this year. be slow in your attack, what i mean by that is build it up frm the back pass the ball around more get players in the game. Use your best passers to thread th ball in to your best finisher, personally i use the wings to get forward but i don't cross it that often as my strikers are quite small, so what i do is use the wings to get forward then pass the ball into my strikers who can then finish well, on pes 5 u can't run through teams anymore u have to pass ur way around them. I had the same problem as u but once i started taking my time and thinking it through i was scoring 3 or 4, as so many other people have said, stick with it and u will get the best out of it!

I'm playing with arsenal at the moment. I am passing it aroudn but when i try to get into the box everythign just breaks down and if i do get into the box i usaly shot over the bar:laugh: lol

Also try and make hold the ball til the opposition player commits to challenging you and then play the pass. That'll give your attackers more space and more chance of getting a one on one with a defender.

i notice the power bar charges more quickly.. just tapping the shoot will be better i think

imo.. running on wings and crossing it to the near post is the easiest way of scoring.

funny thing about PES "realism" is that in real life winger might stand at the level of the box at the wing and just stand and defenders stand and wait who does the first move.. In PES if you stop for one nanosecond, you lost the ball and can't catch Hyypiä with Eto'o.. :realmad:

Another good tip...before your striker receives the ball, tap R1 to allow the ball to run through his legs, then turn in another direction and shoot...this move creates a small shooting space for the striker, confuses the defender for a split second and usually goes in...try it! (Don't mesh the shoot button, though)

for me, all my goals, majority are power shots from edge of the penalty box. That is the easiest way. Pretty cool too. Like a new generation goal scoring method. Blasting them in

i played 3 star and its like playing italian football every team defends but are good on set peices u go 2 down on 5 min 3 star u aint gna win tht game. be patient, pass it across the pitch, 343 formation pacey strikers and wingers very important id rather have a pacey player than good finisher cos hell create. marlon harewood from west ham is 1 of the best ive found for this

I think the best way is to get ball to yr besht player, also try work a opening in the middle. Long range shots also is not difficult to score with good players. I've score with Solskjear and Scholes already in four * level. I am not so sure about scoring with weaker teams on higher difficult levels.

I've played a full La Liga season with Real Madrid. I was scoring my goals with patient build ups / playing to the wings by getting my full backs forward / passing the ball in field then the likes of Beckham, Gravesen, Carlos, Zidane, and Raul would shoot from long distance / play a through ball to Ronaldo, Robinho, or Baptista.

What I don't do in PES5, and what I used to do in PES4, is whip in low crosses as the strikers don't respond as effectively as they did in PES4. The strikers would, 8 or 9 times out of 10, poke the ball into the ol' onion bag as the ball would fizz across the 6 yard box... just doesn't happen at that high ratio in PES5.

Also, when taking a shot from long distance move the directional button left or right while the ball is in mid-flight, this will give the ball movement and will add swerve and curl to the shot.

I've found it's also a lot easier to get a penalty in PES5. Shield the ball and use your body, eventualy the defender will make a lunge and bring you down only for the ref to point to the spot.

when your 1 on 1 line up and shoot early do not allow the keeper to come right out in your face because the angle becomes to thin and keepers usually save them

When 1on1 wif the keeper if uv got the angle try chipping him as he gets close. press o till u get full power bar then tap r1 and put ur direction on. This works 4 me 9times out of 10

Ive had the same problem and it really gets to me sometimes! i play on 3* most of the time and usually as man utd! i just cant seem to finish one on one with the keeper with ruud or rooney and it does get frustrating! But ill try these tips out and see how it goes!
