i have had one penalty for handball, i was stunned. Up steps Thierry Henry on red 'form', aim BOTTOM RIGHT, thierry blazes it about 10 foot over TOP LEFT!!!! Why give you the penalty if they wont let you score it. I couldnt have told him to put it further from where he hit it. Rigged pish.

The handball feature is just another way of the game preventing you scoring a goal, the amount of times ive hit a shot on the edge of a packed box and ball seems to find my ONLY player in the box's outreached hand

I'm startin to hate this game, and i never thot i'd say that.

2day, when playin my mate, i got a foul when his keeper handballed it outside the box. No card, nothing.

Far too many handballs, and the game puts it beyond ur control when they want the cpu 2 score.

Flipper you are a little sissy girl.............if you get 2 many handballs it's probably because you've got poor control...and here's some news for you: There are NO PENALTIES FOR HANDBALL IN PES3!!! NONE!!! To all of you who think it happened - well there was a foul in the box, but certainly not a handball - the game is designed that way so you wouldn't get a totally random break/shitty break.
However, the refs do make mistakes sometimes - but you can always change refs (each ref has their own style).

and flipper - if you get that many handballs, then either you're a crummy player (and thus PES4 will not help you) or you're just a whinny little girlie.

As much as it hurts to be called a sissy and a whinny(?) little girl, how could it be down to poor control if you cross the ball into the box to an unmarked man, press shoot to head the ball into a nigh-on empty net, and your player misses the ball with his head only to handball it and give possesion away?

Secondly, refs make mistakes ALL the time and yeah, you can choose the ref but regrettably I don't have time to analyse every one to determine the most lenient.

And lastly, how can anyone be a crummy player at PES3!?

how can you have poor control? it depends on the ability of the player, not the person contolling it. i bet flipper would kick ur arse at pes3 even if he dont like it!

There is a guide to how lenient the refs in PES3 are. You can get it in the downloads section of pesfan.com although some people have said that it is incorrect. May be worth checking out the refs section in it.

what money? ive made no challenge i will openly admit im shit at pes but i play it for fun!

i was merely stating that on the game poor control tends to be due to the ablity of the player not you. unless u are mad enough to keep your finger on r1 like on pes1/2.

Ok Ashley point taken. I do feel confident in my playing ability and you are correct - leaving your finger on the R1 is the first and most common mistake of all PES players, and acutally it was a big mistake in PES 1 and 2 and even in ISS....yeah I know I'm an old geezer.
Regarding control - I'm not talking about the dribbling attribute (speed and accuracy) which defines the players movement, but your control - when you see a defense player, what do you do, how do you try to dribble around him, maybe side step him with R2, maybe go into a complete stop for a sec with a tap on R1 (and then go diagonally to another direction) and also try to do the slow dribble (leave everything, then press L1).
That's the control I'm talking about.
And I still insist that there are, and I repeat NO PENOS FROM HANDBALLS!!!!!!!!!!!
I would bet anyone who thinks otherwise/proves it to me.

That's a promise.

yeah, when u put it like that i agree.

ive never had a penalty for handball in the 2 months or so that we've had pes3 (god, it seems like longer). in fact, i dont get that many handballs at all. so it seems strange to hear people saying its a big issue.

maybe its worse for some than others.

Man you are so right!!! I mean I don't have time like you guys (I'm a geezer you can check my profile) but I do try to play the 2-2.5 hrs a day, alone and with my friends (we play with a multi-tap - 2 against 2) and we rarely get handballs (only in those situations discussed above) and we never got a peno for a handball. Moreover, I was braking flipper's balls before just because he said he was sick of the game. Come on, don't be a baby, flipper - nothing in this world is perfect, and I do agree that it's frustrating to get those stupid handballs, but saying that you are sick of pes3 just made me mad. Sorry if I was a bit harsh.

But u cant deny there are glaring flaws in the game. Handballs shoudn't even exist in the game. And u cant control defensive headers! Whats the deal with that!?

I find when ive been playin for like 2 hours and then a handball comes i get pissed off the most. I dont really have many handballs untill about 2 hours straight playin since i get more frustrated and this proberly results by me playin badly. Maybe most people here play it for like 3 - 4 hours (at one time) a day and begin to get frustrated with it.
Reason why its only 2 hours (at one time) for me is casue i get annoyed waay too easily :eek:
