Improvements For PES4

What i'd like to see more of in PES4 is player personalitys. So that different players react to situations differently. E.g when Scholes trips Lampard, Lampard will get up quickly and take the free-kick, but when Deco is tripped, he'll over react and try to get Scholes booked.

Also much more editing options, being able to have the same face for all the skin colours, instead of a selection for each skin colour. More editable boots, more shirts, which are modeled on real maufactuars shirts.

Better goal celebrations, players that hug, and pat each other on the back, instead of standing near them and raising there arms.

Increased player movement, so that players will burst forward from the midfield and make runs which can be picked out by other players. More interaction between players, goalkeepers shouting out instructions to his defence, organising walls and players at set-peices.

Liscences- self-explanatory

A slower gameplay, being able to walk with the ball, the computer not rushing right at the start of the game to get the ball, but taking their time. Opposition that sometimes standoff players instead of jumping in.

Improved AI, players playing passes that are easier sometimes than difficult long balls.

What do you people think?

All valid comments Zyg.

Slower gameplay is most signifigant point...everything is a rush in the game where as in real life a lot of games have variances in the tempo, like sometimes it will go slow and just be passing and defences will back off, when the tempo rises the game speed increases everyone dashes about looking for tackles etc...

Slower game play

I agree wit you about making the game play a bit slower. its really annoying when from the moment you kick off the computer is just hungry for the ball no matter what. :D

i have to disagree, i think fast gameplay is good when playing with friends, it keeps things exciting.

i think there should be a wider range of colours for kits!!!
the slower gameplay idea is excellent!!it would make the game much more realistic!

Difficulty, please! I want to be able to get the best players in the world, and still have to struggle to win the league. On PES3 you just play the ball to the wing, make a diagonal pass into the box, and your player will show up to score. The CPU isn't marking at all. Also, the CPU should counter attack 10 times better or something. I don't think I've ever seen a CPU player make a strong run on the wing and hit a good cross past the side back. Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but I couldn't be bothered going through all 39 pages. :S

I'd like the players to be a little bit less consistent. I feel it's easy to know how to score, players don't really make mistakes with shots and crosses.

At the hardest difficulty it should be almost impossible to qualify for the higher league (D2 to D1 in PES3 terms) straight away, with only the default players. Those who want to be cruising will always have lower difficulties to choose from...

It's also ridiculous that you can go through 10 seasons without getting any injuries. In reality there's always at least one injured player in a squad. Could happen during games, but it could also happen outside games. (And before the game starts you get a message saying Nesta sprained his ankle during the warm up or whatever.) I'm begging for more frequent injuries!

also when there's a throw in the opponent defence isn't positioned in real life....that should also happen in pes4 since it provides counter attack situations which are very important!!!

the offside system!! it sucks in WE7iJ/pes3/we7.. man i dont think a player ever get offside near your own half in real life

With all respect, no one gives a shit mate. We want a more realistic game and regardless whether you think every player running around at 100mph for 90 minutes, the fact remains that this is not realistic, players just cant do that in real life no matter how fit they are. There are always times in matches where teams just play a bit of keep ball and the whole team backs off. You just dont get that at all in the game, anything over 2 stars and the game just goes into hyper mode.

One feature I hope to see implemented if it is not already in WE8 is more mid air action.

1. Two or more players jumping up to head for the ball. Occasional head collision or player losing his balance due to mistiming.
2. Player raising his foot in mid air (in a dangerous manner) to ward off/intercept a pass/cross, at times missing the ball with the foot hitting a player’s face/chest.Player(keeper included) fall to the ground in a dramatic manner leaving us to guess whether he has sustained a serious injury.
3. Keeper trying to collect ball in mid air with one or more player lunging forward to head the ball. Ball feebly collected by keeper due to bad timing may have the ball dislodged by player in mid air.

classic teams are meant to be made up of the best players a countries ever had. Therefore it should b better than the current national side. This is not true on PES3. Also should be able to place players from game into classic team. For example Shearer voted best england striker ever and you can't put him in classic.

I have to disagree with these (already being in the game). The gameplay is good at times but at others can be absoluetly horrible:
- Idiotic passing
- Retarded AI
- Slow reaction times (by this I mean you do something and it can take up to a full second for the player to actually do something)
Also I see absolutely no trace of players acting like their real-life counterparts. Everyone is the same.

These are the things I want fixed immediately.

You're right man! The only evidence of players acting like their real-life counterparts is in free kicks such as Beckham's and goal celebrations by Raul and Henry. If Konami took more time studying the players, how they react, play and celebrate then each would be an individual adding even more realism to the game.

also they should show substitutes warming up at the side of the pitch.and subs and players coming on and off the pitch

Does anyone think that it sucks that u never get a hand ball decision against the com in their penalty box""""

I have... ONCE. Must have been the one-off because i've been playing the game for some time now! Never conceded a penalty due to handball though.

I hope they take away handball out of pes4 because it isnt the players fault as they only control the players feet! They sould though add something like a "push" button where when two players fight for a ball they can decide wether to "push" the player, the ref then can decide wether this is a foul or not. That would be great

there was a diving ability in This is football, you had to press bot L & R top buttons, but most of the time you were booked! (Then i saw the light leading me to the PES series!)
