Improving condition

Hey guys, just wondering how to improve my players' condition in the master league. Do I just have to rest them and wait?

Thanks

No way to train them back, and no steriod-type cheats either! (Rio Out!)

I try to rest players if their little arrow goes blue, and I leave them out of squad training - I was dumbstruck when I found you could have two teams in ML Training and switch between the formations using START.

In fact, I often leave myself out by letting the computer take over using Player Settings: I'm confident in the lads giving themselves a proper work out while I put the kettle on and make the tea. More like Director of Football than the Coach. :)

This is in the slight hope that PES3 rewards a Master League team somehow for time spent in training - maybe less likely to suffer from fatigue/injuries and show better form - the orange/red arrows.

Thanks a lot for the reply mate!

This leads me on to a second question...does the training option improve players stats? If not, what is it actually for? I know you've already touched upon this, but I don't tend to do team training...will this affect my players badly?

Pretty stupid questions I know, but this is my first master league season ever.

Cheers!

Not their skill stats, and I don't know if training really has any impact on their condition, levels of fatigue or injury - positive or negative!

It's partly instinct (and a sneaking suspicion) because the section in the Manual about the Master League places a lot of emphasis on using the Training facility to check out your players and their skills.

In PES2 I thought it seemed to help prime new players to build up their Teamwork ability during matches. i.e. helped them fit in quicker. Promising players also seemed to develop quicker, but (like Houllier) I never quite got them to the standard required.

That's the impression I got from PES2 anyway - PES3 could be different.

I find the best use for training is adding variety to your game - working on a particular skill (in passing, shooting, dribbling, defending, or a set-play);

trying variations of it using a different dribble speed or pulling the Left Analogue stick in a different direction;

then working it into options that I can execute deliberately, in full control, during a real competitive game.

(One thing to mitigate against poor squad condition for is look for flexible players who can play respectably in a lot of positions when the first choice is out e.g. Cocu, a great squad player. Also check the Condition and Consistency values of potential new purchases)

I think that Training is for you as a player to get used to the players in your team and that it doesn't really do anything for them.

Zygalski is probably right, but I still like to see them running about under their own control, with the freedom to express themselves on the pitch.
